The fact that the daughter of a Chinese dictator goes to Harvard probably says more about Harvard than it does about him.

We and the Brits have long considered it of strategic value to educate the children of foreign elites in our universities. It shouldn't be too difficult to imagine why.

Was that strategy formed when universities were socialist enclaves?

It probably made a lot of sense until our universities started to hate America as much or more than their home countries

I guess I see your point. It's not all as bad as people let on in the NE. The profs are overwhelmingly liberal but the overwhelming majority are professionals and don't brow beat their students. The students come from a mix of backgrounds, as you can imagine. Conservative think tanks, Republican admins, and GOP congressional staffs are stacked with guys and gals who went through Ivies in the last 15-20 years and less.

re: Lol, New York Times
This is an example of how blinded by leftist ideology the folks at the NYT are. This SAME writer repeatedly has described Trump as a threat to democracy. And his readers lap it up.

This isn't even new for the left. They loved them some USSR when i was a kid. Loved Chavez at first. Loved Castro at first. Hell. Loved Che...........

You can even find glowing write ups from them on Pol Pot!.

It's like some permanent inability to learn from history.

His daughter was probably radicalized further at Harvard than she was in Communist schools in China.

As much fun as it is to think this I think I'm closer to correct. The Chinese are very prideful people. The last thing Chinese would ever want is the people of their Nation hating their Nations very existence

Spending four years surrounded by people who pathologically hate everything the United States was formed on had to be a disorienting experience for someone who comes from a place so proud of its heritage

If you grew up like that I could totally see you going back scared shittless of the same thing happening where you live

At this point China is keeping itself "communist" to keep its control over the people.

If it's pretty noticeable in my regional Louisiana college, I cannot imagine how it is in the liberal Mecca of New England Ivy League jurisdiction.
