Asking him WTF the leadership was doing, why was there no police presence anywhere, despite them knowing unrest was coming they were completely unprepared, passive, etc.
Governor is basically blaming the mayor.

If they want to end these protests quickly they need to go ahead and charge the officers involved.
As of now they're in a no-win situation. Either use overwhelming force to end the riots and look over authoritative, or do what they're doing now and let the city burn.

Earlier when the National Guard commander was giving his opening statement he basically shite all over the mayor and governor, saying that they had zero direction from above. They were prepped and ready to go yesterday morning and even after they were asked to move last night they were basically on their own.
Complete incompetence by the mayor, police chief and governor.

they should do both...the state patrol guys I see on television right now look like people that I wouldn't want to mess with...
notice all the crowd is doing now is taking pictures...

This clownshow governor just said gatherings will not be permitted due to Kung Flu?

All Democrats there - They love death , destruction , and chaos.

Governor is DEEPLY apologetic to the CNN crew that was arrested.
Can't give any numbers on how many looters have been arrested however.
NYC arrested 40 protesters yesterday. I'm betting the number is lower in Minneapolis.

without effing up the case
Some guy, usually leftist, said in another thread yesterday that it took 7 months to charge the Somali officer who killed the Aussie lady a while back, don't know if true.
Perhaps a reform of the Justice system is in order, restore the whole right to a speedy trial thing, for everybody, not just when dictated by mobs.

Well that would be a terrible way to run a justice system

What’s a word that starts with an L, ends with an H, and is also a football player for the Raiders?
Because that is why charging people or punishing people solely to satiate the mob would be.

"You released prisoners due to covid, so if you arrest people, where are you going to put them" (paraphrasing)

I laughed that all this is happening in a BLue state run by Democrats....Is that bad?
Posted on 5/29/20 at 11:47 am to BuckyCheese
Liberals are elected on rhetoric...it’s why they almost universally shite the bed in these situations. They have no actual experience to draw from when words don’t work.

I mean what other evidence could they possibly need? Even if he resisted arrest, the officer killed him. It's on video.
People get charged with crimes quicker than this all the time.

Have you ever tried to fire someone covered by a union or civil service?
One thing goes wrong and the whole matter gets tossed out.
Kind of like what happened when SWB attempted to fire the cops in the Sterling incident. They were cleared, she fired them, and they got a settlement from the city over it.

quote:there is video of both. Clearly there is a difference between struggling to detain an armed individual and suffocating someone with your knee.

With a case this high profile it shouldn't take this long to gather all the required evidence to at least get an arrest warrant. In the past there have been incidents that could be argued both ways. This is not one of them. There is absolutely no excuse for what that officer did, and his actions directly resulted in the death of George Floyd.

So how come 7 months for the Somali officer?
Posted on 5/29/20 at 12:17 pm to gthog61
I am not familiar with the details of that case, but it's my opinion that police recieve too much protection from prosecution.
