Liberalism. A mental disorder?

Before this entire coronavirus fiasco I was a liberal. Not a leftist activist type, but I hated Trump and I was a strong environmentalist, pro union and believed in the efficacy of social programs. A lot of the crazy far left stuff never appealed to me. The gender nonsense. I’ve never believed in abortion, but I always thought they were the lesser of two evils so to speak. There were also fundamental issues I agreed with conservatives on, but I definitely leaned left.
I don’t think that my personal views have changed all that much, but the Democratic Party has swerved SO FAR to the extreme left that I’ve come to realize that I really don’t have anything in common with these lunatics. The means just no longer justify the ends for me anymore.
I’m not sure what I identify as politically anymore, but it’s certainly not a liberal. I just can’t in good conscience support these people any longer.
Reading through Twitter this morning I found the perfect thread to encapsulate just how fricking nuts and hateful these people actually are.

I hope more Americans come to their senses too. Conservatives aren't perfect, but liberals are deranged lunatics who justify violence and hate towards others, and see nothing wrong with it.

On my journey to whatever brand of Conservative I am today, I also was a Liberal.
For me, the change came when I grew up and developed the capacity to love....TRULY love.
When I was a raging Liberal, I was filled with nothing but confusion and anger at the World.
Today my anger is focused on those who seek to control the thoughts and actions of others......and doosh-bags.

The media has created all of this (with the indoctrination in colleges). The have fanned the flames of division for political purposes. They are unraveling decades upon decades of progress.

Liberalism / progressiveism, whatever it is, it is certainly a mental cancer type of process.
Liberals or democrats shouldn't even have that moniker any longer. Liberals (the voters not the politicians) actually fought for INjustice. Democrats used to vote with reason. The right (voters) hasn't changed so much but over the decades has slid closer to libertarian socially.
The GOP and the DNC are both globalist operations even if not by design or intention. The way our system is built is to let them make tons of money selling influence to foreign powers. That shite has GOT to go. Term limits won't help this ultimately.
Being a politician should be a role of servitude. I'm fine with them making a handsome salary, but what they're capable of making and the ways they make money are nefarious.

Not trying to hijack the thread but you are indeed correct that liberalism is a mental disorder. It is a mental disorder rooted in sin. When you completely give yourself over to this world, you give yourself completely to sin. A person that is completely given over to sin literally seems nonsensical to a normal human being.
Romans 7 talks about the law being weakened by the flesh (i.e., sin). These laws are God’s laws. These leftists are relativists, meaning no law applies to them unless it benefits them. Their sin, as any law pertains to them, has made said law non-existent for any practical purpose other than their own in a given instance.
This is unequivocally mental illness rooted in sin run wild.

A perfect metaphor for how far the left has swerved is the idea that you could run 1990 Joe Biden as a Republican today against 2020 Joe Biden the democrat. The policies are THAT different.
