...Department Releases a List of Crimes Cops Will No Longer Respond To
RedState
"Hence, on Wednesday, the city listed which crimes “officers will no longer respond to”:
Theft under $1,000 where there is no suspect information (this does not include stolen vehicles or guns)..."
Perfect. Free stuff. Make your shopping list, head to Asheville, put on your mask, sunglasses, and a hat (amazing how these days that won't raise suspicion) and "shop" away.

This is why liberal cities are shitholes.
They don't want to arrest criminals, they'd rather reduce police.

This should go a long way into turning Asheville back into the absolute shithole it was in the early 90s. Hookers and crack everywhere, glorious.

Would love to ask the fricking dumbasses when or how anyone would ever report an assault otherwise?

Like a bat signal for criminals. Good luck with that baws
ETA: So I read the rest of the article and of course they only reduced the budget by a whopping 3% haha When 80+ officers aren't on the payroll any longer, that is easy to shoulder.

For some reason, I doubt this applies if someone alleges it was a “racist” threat.

Good. Summer is here and convicts love to perform their craft in this weather.
Enjoy your summer, Ashville!

It isn't enough that progs are horrible at recognizing the real problems for citizens. They invariably enact policies that makes life harder for the people they tell us they care about the most.

I assume they mean as opposed to “in progress.”

This should do wonders for their heavy dependence on tourism (Biltmore Estate). Glad I visited years ago, will make sure no one I know is heading there any time soon. Moronic idiots!

I assumed Asheville would have a low crime rate as I thought they were a small, secluded lilly-white haven for limousine liberals.
They actually have a pretty high crime rate, apart from murders.
According to the City-data crime index they have a crime rate of 518 which is nearly double the national average of 270. And it appears to be rising.

I’ve said this multiple times, and people need to pay attention…
THIS IS ALL PART OF THEIR PLAN TO BRING ABOUT A FEDERAL POLICE FORCE
If they can stay in power, they’ll keep doing this in cities they control one by one until crime is so terrible that people will be begging for police protection. Then, they’ll swoop in with the federal police and REALLY exterminate rights across the country.
Create the problem and swoop in with the fix

I live outside of Asheville and the city is hot garbage. It already had one of the highest crime rates in the country. Just seeing the people who live here now is sickening. If you wanna visit the mountains go to TN

This thread title is somewhat disingenuous. Asheville is a small city (population under 100,000) with an overall crime pressure that's small compared to major metropolitan areas in the U.S. And the police department is hardly being "defunded", but rather the budget is being reduced by 3% (from 30.1M to 29.3M). And felony crimes will still be treated as such; arrests will be made and they'll be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
