They are starting to talk like foreigners intentionally leaving out "the" CIA. I've noticed it with other progs saying going to hospital and university.

Insiders have always said "CIA" and not "the CIA" - it is hipster dooferism, but it goes at least back to the 1970s if not before.

It’s a perversion of a perverse idea.
Progs had to come up with a way to deal with the power struggle between predetermined oppressed groups, so they made it all mathy-like and used the term intersectional. It basically means a person gets to check multiple boxes on the oppressed group score card.
The word must have gotten so chic in that lady’s prog bubble that it’s just hip term to use to basically say how awesome she is for being a woman and hispanic.

I can't invalidate your experience. I was a member of the intelligence community (NOT CIA), at a very low level, a lifetime ago. I don't know anyone who said "the CIA" if they were a civilian (CIA, DIA, etc.)
