When they want to change the rules to fit their politics, they should expect the same.

The Constitution states the president is to nominate federal judges and the Senate is to vote on whether the president's appointment should serve. A majority of votes is required.

I've always felt the Senate was bound by the Constitution to vote on these appointments and making up their own rules is unconstitutional on these matters.

I'm glad it's back to where it should be and that elections have consequences once again.

Sure my side could be on the short end again, but it is what the constitution says.

They didn't. Gorsuch's first cloture vote was 55, rejected. So, Cocaine Mitch used the dems own game and went the "nuclear route" to change the rule and make all judicial nominations equal.

I wish I had the video of Mitch speaking on the floor when this was happening. He basically said to the dems, “If you do this, it will backfire on you one day” and now their day has come.
