Let's all take the time to consider: This is how the GOP fights when it wants something

As opposed to things they tell you that they care deeply about, but don't really:
- Balancing the budget
- Protecting American workers
- Respecting the will of the voters
- Protecting the borders
- Preserving Freedom of Religion
- Preserving freedom of expression online
- Giving a goddamn about anyone outside their club
Kavanaugh might be right wing, he might be a really good SCOTUS pick (and I think he probably is). But we should all be cognizant of the fact that the Grassleys and the McConnells and all the rest are willing to go to the mat for him because he is one of Them.
It has nothing to do with Trump. Kavanaugh is part of the Club.
And you still aren't.

All politicians, by design, are corrupt pieces of shite. No one has gone to DC, stayed, and remained one of decency.
Ask anyone who tried it out for a couple terms. It's all about "scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" and "how do I financially benefit here?"
It's also very telling how there are complete and absolute morons holding office.

There are no Trumps serving as Judges. (They would never get confirmed). #MAGA

I agree with that, but if he is an originalist and doesn't dictate leftist policy/doctrine from the bench I am ok. We have to have a conservative court for the future of this nation. We can always turn around and vote against those ducks that you mentioned.

No, they realize that if the Democrats are successful at derailing this nomination, Trump, or any other Republican president, will have an insurmountable task getting another one through. This is a Constitutional struggle here.

You're not as correct as you think you are. They know people back them on this and see through this foolishness. They don't believe people can see through the crying about cuts made to balance the budget.

I do too. Maybe my message is getting lost.
All I’m saying is, the GOP seems like they have backbone here, and then turn around and play dead on issues like TPP and Obama’s Iran deal.
They are liars who would have supported Kav if he’d been to the left of Garland because he’s in their Club. McConnell is no warrior of the right.

I understand your point, but I’m hoping this is the start of the Republican Party finding its balls to take a stand on those other issues you mentioned.

quote:It's because they are clearly in the right. On issues like TPP and the Iran Deal there are varying opinions within the party. That's the problem with a party so diverse in opinion, you get splintering. The democrats are lockstep automatons on most issues therefore they all pull in one direction.

You should want a Strict Constructionist or a Textualist. THAT will get you “limited government.”

To be fair most of those issues can’t get passed due to Dems and about 4-5 GOP cucks.
If the gop had a filibuster proof majority I think they’d fix more problems

Need the SCOTUS before the hammer drops on the Dems.

This isn’t something they want, it’s self preservation. It may not be this midterm but a lot of folks won’t forgeg when they come back on the ballot for primaries.
