Leftist loons HATE Van Morrison, and it's glorious

Van, one of the greatest singer songwriters in modern music era, just released his newest record titled "Latest Record Projet Volume 1," and on it he holds nothing back in his criticism of the overreaction to the virus as well as political bullshite we have been dealing with.
Of course the music industry is loaded with nutjob leftists, and they are ripping this record for no reason other than its political leanings. Check out this review on allmusic.com. I won't post the link, because why send more traffic to this nonsense. Pay attention to how this reviewer doesn't diss the music but only the content and Van's "nastiness."
This is gold! Van has been a very outspoken soldier this last year against government overreach and this overreaction to the virus. The left doesn't know what to do with him, because he is a music legend with a massive audience. They hate when one of their own strays from the pack, so they are trying to tear him down. I love the title of this track, "Stop Bitching, Do Something," which is what he has been living up to for a year now. I am going to start spinning this nonstop once I get back from grabbing my lunch. Time to get him some Spotify clicks
We need more Vans in this world

In his old age, Van Morrison dispensed with any lingering niceties he harbored, favoring bluntness over poetry. That transition is made plain by the title Latest Record Project, Vol. 1, a literal description of the album if not its contents. Latest Record Project, Vol. 1 is indeed Morrison's latest record project as of 2021 -- it's called "Vol. 1" because he recorded more than enough to fill a second volume, a remarkable feat considering that this album contains 28 tracks and runs well over two hours -- and if that doesn't hint at what the music within sounds like, it's also true that Van Morrison has stayed in his R&B lane for much of the 2010s. Even a detour like You're Driving Me Crazy, a duet album with jazz organist Joey DeFrancesco, is distinguished by his choice of collaborator, not a shift in the direction. That can't be said of Latest Record Project, Vol. 1. Van cooks along with a simpatico band who are happy to vamp and groove, taking solos that never, ever distract from their lead singer, who has a lot on his mind. Morrison isn't happy with the state of the world and he takes dead aim at his irritants with song titles that convey as much as his full set of lyrics: "Where Have All the Rebels Gone," "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished," "Stop Bitching, Do Something," "Why Are You on Facebook," and "They Own the Media." The latter song thankfully doesn't descend into conspiracy tropes -- a justifiable worry considering how Van wrote a series of anti-lockdown singles during the Covid-19 pandemic -- but it does show how Morrison's crankiness has calcified into nastiness. As always, his saving grace is his expert control of his voice and good musical taste, qualities that prevent Latest Record Project, Vol. 1 from being as sour as its creator.

That's a 100% surefire way to make it Van Morrison's biggest hit song ever--literally millions of downloads daily.

What’s weird is that Van grew up in a era where they didn’t trust the man.
He’s remained true to the cause, but the Left abandoned it!

This is a very good point. The left have fully embraced the man as the defining path of their lives.

I’ve wondered who Rage Against The Machine rages against now that they are on the side of the Machine?

That's what I've been wondering. Pretty solid song too, LINK. I'm liking what I've heard of these songs so far, might just buy a copy.

Thanks for heads up. I love VM early stuff like everyone but I haven’t listened to much new.
Entertainment industry is the biggest hive mind in the world so it’s great to hear someone speaking out.
Irish artists have always had big brass ones!

Finally, we'll have another record to listen to besides Ted Nugent.

Same here, although I planned to buy the record regardless just because I'm a big Van fan. I try to get all of his records on vinyl. But yeah, this is a very good record so far. I'm 5 songs in and enjoying it plenty.
Where Have All The Rebels Gone is fantastic

You KNEW that the "antisemitic" card was coming.
Forward.com review
Legendary singer-songwriter Van Morrison released a new song on streaming platforms Thursday whose title espouses a classic antisemitic trope.
The lyrics of the song, “They Own The Media,” never indicate who the pronoun in its title refers to. But Morrison, a two-time Grammy winner, was also accused of antisemitism for the 2005 track “They Sold Me Out,” and throughout the coronavirus pandemic has been trafficking in conspiracy theories that frequently overlap with Jew-hatred.
The album raised eyebrows in March when its song list was revealed, including titles such as “Why Are You On Facebook,” “Big Lie,” and “Stop Bitching, Do Something.” On the website Stereogum, writer Tom Breihan called out “They Own the Media,” saying “it sure seems to be an antisemitic trope.”
“Maybe it’s satire,” Breihan wrote. “Maybe the “they” of the title doesn’t refer to any specific group of people. But when you consider that this man just went on a months-long COVID-denial tantrum, we have every right to be suspicious about this one.”

Both will be considered contraband in the camps.

Well the a-hole author of this article would have hated the music from the 60s and early 70s because it was definitely music about worldly situations.

I never would have guessed this of Van Morrison, but this is awesome. Looks like I might have to buy my first album in years

I have news for his critics..1. He has never..ever been know to have any nice side to his personality 2. He has enough $$ that he will not give a damn about what anyone says.
