"Lockheed Martin said that he worked for a predecessor of the?company from 1985 to 1988, but offered no other details."
I really want to know what he did while he worked at Lockheed Martin as this is very important in my opinion. This is the most mystifying of all the information provided thus far.

He was an accountant for a predecessor company. Why is that mystifying?

What does it matter? Prince Harry could freak out and do the same thing, no one will know shite until they investigate this thing. It hasn't even been 24 hours

Here is what I could find up to this point
NY Times

Stephen Paddock, Las Vegas Suspect, Was a Gambler Who Drew Little Attention

Mr. Paddock had a private pilot’s license, according to Federal Aviation Administration, and had two small single-engine planes registered in his name. There are no records of Mr. Paddock having served in the military.
Suggests that he is competent /wealthy enough to fly/own 2 planes

Details of Mr. Paddock’s employment history are sparse.
Lockheed Martin, the aerospace contracting company created by a 1994 merger, confirmed that he worked for one of its predecessor companies from 1985 to 1988. Lockheed Martin did not identify which company Mr. Paddock worked for specifically. The company said it was cooperating with law enforcement.

The man identified as the shooter responsible for killing and wounding hundreds in Las Vegas, Stephen Paddock, previously worked for a company that later become Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT).
Lockheed Martin, the world’s largest defense contractor, said the retired Paddock was employed by a predecessor company about 30 years ago.
“Stephen Paddock worked for a predecessor company of Lockheed Martin from 1985 until 1988. We’re cooperating with authorities to answer questions they may have about Mr. Paddock and his time with the company,” Lockheed Martin said in a statement.
Lockheed Martin did not disclose which company employed Paddock. The Bethesda, Maryland-based defense contractor was created through the merger of Lockheed Corporation and Martin Marietta in 1995.
A report from ABC News said Paddock worked as an accountant or auditor.

Paddock worked for Space Shuttle booster maker Morton-Thiokol, a predecessor company of the Lockheed Martin from 1985 to 1988.
Morton-Thiokol's O-ring component on a booster rocket was later found to be at fault for the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986.
