to save the salmon.
Now turn off your air conditions, and garage your EMVs you Californians!

Largest dam-removal project in U.S. history gets the go-ahead in California
by Kurtis Alexander
Nov. 17, 2022
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission voted Thursday to allow the license of four dams on the Klamath River to lapse, giving the final major go-ahead to the largest dam removal and river restoration project in the nation’s history.
The vote by federal regulators opens the door for the first of the four hydroelectric dams to come down next year in what has been a two-decade effort to liberate the once mighty river that spans southern Oregon and Northern California.
The goal of the nearly half billion-dollar project is to restore the health of flora and fauna in the vast Klamath Basin, particularly salmon. The fish once numbered in the hundreds of thousands there and boasted the third largest salmon run in the continental U.S. Removing the dams from the 250-mile waterway will open up fish passage, improve river flow and uproot toxic algal blooms.

It's OK though, because the hydroplants had already been turned off

Just use it for Air Force bombing runs and blast it, no need to demo it, nature will take it over

Need to blow up the dam that ruined Little Yosemite Valley

Umm.. didn’t they have electrical grid problems this past few summers?
Sooo the answer is to permanently take more electricity generation off the grid?
Are any of you libs gonna vote for this moron if he runs for president?

I guess their next action is going to return the water from the Colorado River to its natural course.
Wake me when this happens

Yep all that restoration is going to save them. Ah, maybe not even a small percentage will be noticeable in a comeback because the contamination of the stirring up of water will kill hatchlings and suffocate the adults coming in. Good move though killing a few people as well certainly

Who cares
Stop ceasing over libtard states who are trying to destroy their whole infrastructure hourly.
After they all leave we'll move there and make it a paradise.

Well the Salmon are probably more useful than Californians.

I met a lady from Canada last week and she went on to tell me how pigs, cows, and chickens, have miserable lives!
I laughed at her as she ate her grilled chicken salad!
A big Trudeau fan, and understandably so! Canadiens are brainwashed!

I wish there was a way we could have the water for Agriculture and replace some of the Dams with Natural Gas fired Electric Plants. As of now approximately 40% of the Electricity produced is by Natural gas.
Over the years the Steelhead and Salmon runs into the Snake and Salmon Rivers here out where I am are dwindling because the water is not allowed to run keeping it cool.
The Reservoir water is heated making temps for these fish too high.
It sucks because the fishing used to be pretty good.

No more coal
No more nukes
No more dams
We can't be serious about running everything on solar and wind... I guess some folks are.

Can't they just open the floodgates every now and then to accomplish these goals?
I know so little about this. Can someone explain it to me like I am a person who invested his life savings in FTX?

Now we get to smell the dead salmon post-run instead of the Californians. Alright, alright, alright!!

We have rainbow trout in KY below the dams. We release the cool water on the lake bottom and as it is released in turbulent flow it is oxygenated. Our natural streams otherwise would be too warm except in mountain headwaters and those are brookies.
We have release requirements for all dams.
Is it a spawning problem and no fish ladders?

My thoughts exactly.
All the riprap will actually make great habitat. I fish a lot of collapsed bridges and structures, and they're a magnet for many aquatic species.

California was not designed by God to support 40 million people. Take a drive down US 395 and you will see the damage LA’s thirst water has done.
