A key aspect of this phenomenon is the breakdown of smaller units of “government.” A healthy sense of shame begins with the family, then radiates out to church and other tight-knit community organizations, schools, broader communities, towns/cities, counties, states.

When everything is just dispersed, digital, and impersonal, shame really isn’t a thing.

No decorum in anything.

Just look at graduation ceremonies as an example.
There are certain segments of the population that take events and cultural traditions that involve honor, respect, and wholesomeness and make a mockery out of it with their antics

It is society’s fault for tolerating it. But I have A feeling the fatigue is boiling over and people are gonna start to get put in their place

My wife was a young teacher and was at a more rural school. It wasn't a Title I (poor) school, but it wasn't a wealthy school either.

A teenage girl got pregnant and she was asked to participate in throwing the girl a baby shower. This was circa 2005. We had both graduated high school in the late 90s, and if a girl got pregnant, they left school and weren't heard from. It was a scandal. In less than a decade it went to teachers throwing baby showers for the pregnant girls.
