Right. It’s more plausible that it originated in bat soup in a wet market across the street from where they were researching the virus. Derp.

Shouldn't you cite the WaPo for that article?

You are implying that the lab leak theory is the same as the theory that this was a bio weapon that was intentionally leaked. Two different things. If they were experimenting with the virus, regardless of the experiments, and it got out- that is a lab leak. The only nefarious activity may have been the cover up. Still a lab leak.

You seem confused. Your post did not include one fact creating a hole in the "lab leak theory".

You discuss GOF, weaponization, "weird" spikes. You misquote or misunderstand transmission amongst animal groups, etc.

None of that has a damn thing to do with virtual certainty CV19 originated in the WIV and was leaked.

It is clear that this is a manipulated virus that was either:

1. accidentally released
2. intentionally released
It is crystal clear CV19 was intentionally exported abroad from Wuhan by the CCP.

Non-scientists who push the lab theory are fond of saying that it was "gain of function" experiments at Wuhan Virology that produced the virus. This is borderline woo. Gain of function sounds menacing but it is a basic experimental tool.

quote:

Even if Wuhan Virology was doing potentially unsafe "gain of function" research with coronaviruses, what were they trying to test in making this virus?

Gain of function means they were altering it to make it more “transmissible, deadly, etc.” You can try to spin it but if gain of function is not done properly it can potentially release a souped up bug on the world.

quote:

Unless real evidence emerges that the virus came from a lab, we should regard a lab release as nothing but a nebulous possibility. The fact that China has been dishonest is not evidence that the virus came from its labs--China has MANY reasons to cover up how badly it botched its response.

so a super virus emerges in the same town as a massive virology lab where 3 people who worked in the lab got Covid symptoms and were hospitalized in September 2019 right before this thing spread all over that region of China, but we shouldn’t jump to any conclusions. It was probably a bat. China lied about everything else around this virus, but we should believe them when they tell us it didn’t come from their lab.

Bro you have to be the most gullible poster on this board.

Truth NC; it’s been reported that China prevented travel in China to Wuhan residents, but allowed global travel. Is there any dispute in that? That’s an act of war...is it not? Which gives credence to premeditated knowledge, not trying to tamper down an outbreak. Any reasonable person knows they knew what they produced, and had a plan to spread it. This was a biological war, and it seems coordinated with our own State actors, that are trying to downplay these facts...,

That is the part that they'll eventually get around to understanding once they get through a years worth of denial and virtue signaling that they were dutifully on message. And it's going to hurt their tiny little pea brains.

The Chinese knew what it was. They knew what it could do. They knew it was loose in Wuhan. And they put people on planes to the rest of the world that likely had it and never said a word.

When you get to that realization, that's where the lights start coming on.

You are trying to muddy the water. The lab was studying this virus. Regardless of the reason and research performed the salient fact is this:

The breakout originated in Wuhan, not in the province where the bat is located (which is over 1100 miles away)
The cell phone use information strongly suggests that the breakout originated within the lab in the late Fall of 2019
The CCCP remained silent and let infected people travel the world, effectively dispersing the virus in a weapon like fashion.

Whether they researched gain of function or achieved it is irrelevant. It doesn’t matter whether it became COVID via manipulation or natural viral mutation. They were exposed to it in that lab. The exposed workers carried it out of that lab and transmitted it to others.

Didn't they specifically say lab tests showed it wasn't effecting other species much at all? In other words it wasn't found to be cross species that was just the initial claim.

Apparently the IC consensus, last April, was that it was intentionally leaked by the Chinese. They understood how we would react, and how it would hurt us more than it would hurt them.

All that the Op typed may be true but what is indisputable is they were experimenting with these viruses and that lab had a history of sloppy safety protocols. So its likely they were experimenting with these viruses and had a "Chernobyl" style event which explains the extraordinary lengths they went through to cover it up and the lack of coopertaion.

Ever worked in a Level 3 or 4 lab? Ever been in one?

It's hard to follow protocol in these when animals are involved. Needle sticks, fan failures, failures in directional airflow, inadequate autoclaving, filter breach happen often. If you are around these facilities much, you know the lab failure is highly likely.
