The police chief for the Los Angeles Unified School District resigned Wednesday, a day after the school board slashed his budget by $25 million, saying the reductions impede his ability to serve the community effectively.

In a statement, Todd Chamberlain said the cuts put him in a "position that makes my ability to effectively, professionally and safely impact those groups unachievable."

And when another school shooting happens, the school board and lefties will be up in arms about gun violence. The absurdity of the left has not been reached yet.

So next time there is a school shooter are they going to get the guidance counselor to step in or the social worker?

Good set up for a school shooting so a total win/win for the dems.

I mean, you'd have to be swallowing the bluest of pills right now to not raise your eyes at this and wonder just whether the elites are evil enough to purposely be making schools softer targets.

Given the area involved, the shooter would be a student rather than an outsider.

It's like they forgot why they were there in the first place.

Not really sure how this action supports black lives mattering.

Most of the people involved are so low IQ they probably believe cops are out hunting blacks

It doesn’t. It hastens the demise of the public school and brings more chaos to the everyday citizen. That’s the goal.

Good Lawd...there were no Cops in my school and I got a reasonably average education.

Look. All this "action" is bluster and nonsense. But, I honestly question the effectiveness of Cops in schools.

The dude in FL sure didn't stop a school shooting and I've seen a LOT of stupid "child gets arrested for (insert goofy reason here) by school cop" stories.

The reactions AGAINST this sounds a lot like the "orange man bad" bullshite..."it is Trump's policy. Therefore, I have to criticize it before I even evaluate it"

Not likely. As the only incident brought up at the hearing was a pepper spray incident.

Hilariously, the leadership of the teacher’s union voted to do away with school officers entirely. There’s no way their members voted that way. None. Zero. Nada.

On Tuesday night, after hours of debate and discussion, the LAUSD board voted 4-3 to reduce the LA School Police budget by 35%, and to divert those funds to hire more social workers, counselors and campus safety aids at schools with more Black students.

That's a whoooooooooole lot of virtue signaling.

They have options available to them in restraining kids that teachers and staff do not. They aren’t infrequently used.

I don’t think they’re effective either. But education policies have probably increased their usage.
