I’m tired of driving to the Miss border to play FanDuel

It’s a Parish by parish vote. St Tammany will probably vote No as they did with video poker, but a Jeff Parish win will be just fine as well.

Vote Yes on HB484

IB4: degenerate and fantasy sports are for losers.

I'll be curious to see how many "freedom loving small government conservatives" are inclined to vote against this.

Good lord you're desperate. I enjoy season-long fantasy sports but was annoyed that the daily fantasy players kept insisting daily fantasy wasn't gambling. Therefore, I'm voting "no" out of spite.

How so? I don't play daily fantasy. I figured it would make me spiteful.

I think people tend to treat "gambling" as a false binary. It more properly exists in a continuum between pure chance and pure skill. Pure chance is a slot machine, a coin flip, etc. Pure skill is chess, GO, etc. The overwhelming majority of human competition falls between the two. Hell, even playing football can be construed as a "game of chance" if you stretch the definition far enough.

With that said, trying to establish an arbitrary line to outlaw games of chance is nanny state anti-freedom bullshite. Again, I look forward to the rank hypocrisy from so called "small government conservatives" on the subject.

And for full disclosure, while I play season long fantasy football with friends, I have never, and likely will never, play daily.

Ok then. You are judgmental, hypocritical, and spiteful. None of these are good traits btw

I understand this. The daily fantasy nerds were being disingenuous claiming it wasn't gambling. For the sake of this thread, I'm voting "no" out of spite. When I'm in the booth, I may change my mind.

I am judgmental, only liars claim they aren't. Spiteful was my point. Hypocritical, my response was not.

How is this a parish by parish issue?

These "nerds" represent a vey small percentage of fantasy football players. Daily fantasy is no different than yearly fantasy, you just pick new players every week

It is significantly different. You seem passionate about this issue.

Not at all. I just don't agree with your point of view. To say that you play yearly fantasy but have an issue with daily fantasy is absurd. What are these significant differences that you speak of?
