Gun control? Knife control? Pointy stick control?

Nope. Common sense fire control.
quote:

TOKYO — The attacker screamed “Die!” and set alight flammable liquid he had splashed around an anime studio in Kyoto, the police said, starting a blaze that killed 33 people Thursday in what appears to be Japan’s worst mass killing in decades.

It was a gruesome scene that shocked a nation considered one of the safest in the world, and prompted a global outpouring of grief among the many fans of anime — a school of animation that has become synonymous with Japan.

The Kyoto police said the suspect was a 41-year-old man, and Japanese newspapers reported that he had been detained and hospitalized for burns.

Japan needs to ban gas. You don't need it for hunting.

He splashed a flammable material around the area and no one noticed/reported it?

Kyoto Protocol, in full Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, international treaty, named for the Japanese city in which it was adopted in December 1997, that aimed to reduce the emission of gases that contribute to global warming. In force since 2005, the protocol called for reducing the emission of six greenhouse gases in 41 countries plus the European Union to 5.2 percent below 1990 levels during the “commitment period” 2008–12. It was widely hailed as the most significant environmental treaty ever negotiated, though some critics questioned its effectiveness.

Can't really make heads or tails from the article except from the photos- it was a multi-story building and had extensive fire damage.

Don't know whether he blocked escapes or not or where the most casualties occurred. If it went up quickly, possible that more people died on upper floors than where he was splashing around. Who knows.

Maybe take this opportunity for a little common sense anime control as well.

That’s three mass attacks in three years. Two stabbings and this. The mental illness is strong and growing in Japan as technology alienates man from society.

I think a lot of electronic media out there is designed to produce this outcome. Although, it still falls well short of your average middle eastern shithole.

Whether you're killing because anime ain't what it used to be or killing all the non-believers, it's all mental illness to me.
