“I have come to a decision that this is an appropriate time to dissolve our committee as it stands currently,” Ferentz wrote in a Tuesday email to the 10-member group of football alumni who have worked since summer 2020 to improve the program’s culture. “As we start a new calendar year and prepare to move forward with our preparation for the 2022 season, I am giving thought to how we restructure the committee/board in a way that best serves our program moving forward.”
Ferentz’s decision to dissolve the group came after a contentious meeting Oct. 18 and after committee chair David Porter, former Hawkeye offensive lineman, suggested to the group in a chain of text message Jan. 2 that it’s time to “bring in a new head football coach, football staff, and athletic director.”

Good. DEI initiative groups are basically institutionalized gangs.

also sounds like a terrible thing to have if you want a winning football team
the timing is hilarious though. as soon as they recommended a new coach he decided they didn't need that program

Extortion by any other name is still blackmail.

Somehow , someway we can get the country back to where hard work and effort will be rewarded and not just because of your skin color to meet some group's perceived quota numbers.

Because Ferentz isn't black enough for them.
They want black people in the positions, which is as stupid as firing a black dude simply to hire a white dude.

The entire premise of DEI is that you should be treated differently based on your race. By its very nature DEI(accepts all tenets of CRT) is designed to cause division.
You can't expect to enhance team comraderie with anything DEI.

When should we expect his resignation?

DEI groups are a solution looking for the problem.....

So if they were targeting lower level staff he'd have left them alone?
Self serving pussy.

Ferentz: Thanks for the help with the raise and extension!

Outstanding.
I think Ferentz is one of the best coaches in CFB. He does a lot with limited resources. Could you imagine what he could accomplish at an SEC school.

Q. When you started gathering information on all of those points that you just spoke about, and obviously there's a racial component to this, what did you find out initially and how big of a task or how big of a project do you feel like you were presented with from the start?
DP: I was basically handed an elephant to eat. Eat this whole thing. And I'm like, well, wow, and as I get closer and closer to the elephant, it got bigger and bigger and bigger. I was like, oh my god, how am I gonna eat this whole thing? There's no way.
I did the same thing I normally do. I just start breaking everything down to one bite at a time.

I started paying attention to Ferentz after Iowa showed up and nonchalantly beat the crap out of LSU in the Capital One Bowl just before Saban walked. We thought we were hot sh*t, talking all kinds of crap, and they trucked us.
Which is to say that he’s always seemed like a no BS kind of dude and this is totally on brand.
Can’t imagine how infuriating it must be to build a program that somehow remains relevant year after year despite many disadvantages, and then be back-stabbed like that. Good for him.

Winning on the last play is not getting the shite beat out of us.
