No surprise here. Kennedy has been running for a while it seems to me like. "seriously considering" means "I am running unless some one I can't beat enters the race".

Kennedy is not my favorite but I do think he will do fine as Governor and barring another entrant he has my support.

Well, that would be a mild improvement, but not a major one. Kennedy is a RINO clown.

Agree, especially if it keeps Landry from running.

He is running at least until he thinks he can't win---

He’s not deciding on wether or not to run. He’s deciding on whether he wants to be Governor. The only other potential candidates are Landry & Graves. Landry won’t play past Acadiana statewide like Kennedy will. Graves would be interesting but he’s playing the long game with a chance to roll into the 4th floor with a much more robust resume in both the real world and in politics than Jindal with a comparable mandate and a much better handle on what he’ll do when he starts there...but that part of the plan comes much later. He would be the chalk choice to replace Kennedy in the Senate over the short term.

Give Landry his due---he has stopped JBE from organizing those lawsuits against oil companies he so desperately wants.

Would he consider a deal to put Landry up as replacement for Landry not getting in the race?

It's rhetorical...he will do just that.

You do realize that a Kennedy win in the governor's race puts Landry in the United States Senate, right?

This.

Don't forget Congressman Abraham has already announced. You may not have noticed on account of Abraham somehow having less charisma than Bill Cassidy.

Landry got more votes running for AG than JBE got running for governor last year. Never underestimate the power of a charismatic coonass.

Graves would be interesting but he’s playing the long game

This. The only question is whether he's playing the long game in Baton Rouge or D.C. With Paul Ryan retiring, that puts Steve Scalise as the favorite to be speaker of the House, and Graves possibly in line to be Majority Whip.

Remember, despite his CPRA accomplishments and legislative wins in Washington, Graves is still virtually unknown outside of Baton Rouge. I don't see any chance he runs for governor this go around.

The times I've met him, I haven't gotten that vibe at all. He comes across more like a really nice guy who's not exactly the brightest bulb around, but means well. At the same time, he definitely has a down-da-bayou Cajun sense of style and class.

Another of Louisiana's false conservatives, an early 80's democrat.

Only con of Kennedy is he's old as hell and looks it too, both are likable candidates I could definitely predict this race being tight in the end it's a win-win for Louisiana unless you're one of those far-right/far-left farts, is what it is

Some electability impediments of Landry are not many people know about him compared to JBE or Kennedy and he doesn't appear a dynamic candidate who could galvanize an electorate, he looks somewhat old, not too handsome, comes off as bland, just not the total package you'd want in a candidate, doesn't mean his policies are bad just how the game is played.

JBE is no win.

If JBE has his way today every oil company would be the target of a massive state sponsored lawsuit given to JBE lawyer cronies on contingency.
