Monthly Q&A with President of the Texas National Movement (TNM), Daniel Miller
June 10, 2021 || 7:30pm
Zoom call

Per the norm, below is my frantic typing from tonight’s session. Not a full transcript by any stretch of the imagination; just a way to continue to inform those of you who care about this vital issue.

**********
General housekeeping comments:
- No pre-submitted questions tonight. All questions will be “on the fly,” via live Zoom submissions.

- We’re about to launch a Texian Academy on the website to reach people about who the TNM is; how the TNM works and how we can and will TEXIT. It will answer just about every TEXIT question you can imagine. Will be a very large, comprehensive platform.

- ***As y’all know: Huge announcement coming Monday night (6/14); I will not be addressing that issue tonight! So please don’t ask what the announcement is. Y’all’ve all received invites by now. You’ll have to sit tight ‘til Monday. Be ready to tune in at 7pm.

But three big issues for which to prepare:
(a) We’re going to need a lot of volunteers.
(b) As mentioned last month ... If you want to run for office, get with us (the TNM) ASAP.
(c) If you want to become a local TNM leader/district coordinator, let us know now.

- I haven’t run into anyone who’s happy with how the just-completed TX lege session went—except for legislators. Either they’re stupid or flat-out tone deaf. It wasn’t just TEXIT folks who were upset; it was across the board from most people.

We’re pleased with the numbers of people/TNM supporters who are looking to run for office as a result of the lege session .

—————

Questions:

Your thoughts on Col. West resigning the Republican Party Chair of Texas position? Thoughts that he may run for Governor?

Who didn’t see that coming? That was not a surprise. Everyone knew his plan was to run for governor. He was running before he was running. He’s already all over the state right now, practically campaigning.

It’s no secret West has been extra critical of Greg Abbott. They do not see eye-to-eye on most issues.

There are some people who are upset that West didn’t serve a full term as Chair; but by and large, there’s a big battle raging between the entrenched Republicans and guys like Allen West. It’s getting bigger by the day. The establishment politicians vs. the people who want to take back the government. It’s beyond party politics and has gown into ideological warfare. It’s going to be quite interesting to watch. It’s very important that Abbott have competition.

West has not announced whether he’s for or against secession; but he’s pro-TEXIT/allowing the people of Texas to vote on the issue.

If nothing changes between now and the 2023 legislative session, will our current/2021 version of HB1359 (the Texas Independence Referendum Act) remain the same as is, or will it undergo changes?

First, something WILL change before 2023, if for no reason(s) than (a) We’ve got redistricting happening in September; (b) many people will be up for re-election; and (c) the BIG announcement on Monday will have an enormous effect. There’s no way it can’t.

As for the actual bill: The tone of the legislation won’t change, but the language that the lege put into our bill will change. We weren’t at all happy with the lege college’s edits to our house bill. At the very least we’ll need to tweak it so that the legislators are forced to take a next step on it.

Why do Texas GOP legislators behave like Democrats?

Ask them.

I want to know why they behave like pro-federal government lackeys with no spines. It’s a people vs the political establishment issue—a battle between both political parties and the people of Texas. Greg Abbott has been a huge hindrance and impediment to Texans voting for TEXIT.

When we finally vote on TEXIT, will we be able to block illegal votes?

Election integrity legislation is of particular interest to all Texans and is especially important to us (the TNM). I won’t at all be surprised to see a call for a special session over the next few days—early July the latest. So we could easily see back-to-back special sessions in August and September.

We’re looking at recruiting about 14,000 Texas Nationalist Movement poll watchers for the next election. Make sure you’ve completed the Volunteer form on the website.

The numbers on the TNM website re: “Can Texas make it?” (as a sovereign nation) are old. Will they be updated soon?

The report is undergoing a big update as we speak. All metrics continue to strongly support an independent Texas.

Will the rash of people currently flooding our state—coming from other states—affect the TEXIT vote?

We’ve spoken at length in many contexts with many such people, as well as with Texas leaders who’ve spoken with them also. The people who are coming from other states are political and economic refugees who are expecting Texas to “fix” that from which they’re fleeing. They know what they’re getting into when they come to Texas.

Those people who keep saying there will be a microcosm of pro-federal, “purple” voters in Texas are flat-out uninformed. The opposite is occurring.

Will there be a special session?

Absolutely. There will definitely be one in September because of the expired deadline on redistricting. At the very least, there’s no doubt the maps have to be redrawn, and the lege session ran out of time.

The question is: Will there also be a special session re: election integrity? It would not surprise me at all. So it isn’t a matter of “Will there be a special session,” but “How many special sessions will be held?”

Will there be an online Q&A session on Monday after the “big announcement?”

Good question. I’m apt to want to do that separately from Monday. There will be far too much to discuss, and it’ll be a big night as it is. But we haven’t decided. You’ll know imminently.

Will an independent Texas deal with the UN?

I hope not. I’m not a fan of doing so. But that’ll be up to the citizens of a sovereign Texas.

What can we say to people—in just a couple of words— who always want to argue about why we can’t TEXIT and ask what the point is of the TNM?

“To secure and protect the independent nature and economic freedom of Texas.”

Those folks just want to argue. Don’t do it. That’s not where our energy needs to be directed right now.

Should we continue to call the governor about adding HB1359 (TEXIT) to the special session?

Absolutely. But will Abbott listen? Doubtful. He operates by sticking his finger in the wind and seeing what direction it’s blowing. He’s a follower/front runner.

ALL we’re asking for is ONE LINE on the ballot to inform the Texas legislature what the will is of the people of Texas. By law, we don’t even have to ask.

Are we promoting TEXIT on big media?

We’ve pulled back a little because of what’s going to be announced on Monday. Yes, marketing will definitely continue, but it will change.

I can say this: The media isn’t going to know what to do with Monday’s announcement.

Thoughts on Abbott not yet signing HB1927 (Constitutional Carry bill)?

If Abbott wants to alienate the entire GOP in Texas, as well as many on the left, that’s the way to do it. It’s a sure fire way to crap the sheets.

At minimum we’ll get unlicensed, open carry. This issue has been fought for for years. Gun Owners of America has done a lot of work to get this done. Rachel and her folks deserve large amounts of praise. The ultimate outcome remains to be seen.

Who is the most pro-TEXIT candidate running in the GOP gubernatorial primary? Abbott, West, Huffines, or Prather?

None of them are-pro-Texas enough for me.

Greg Abbott - He and I go way back; all y’all know my opinion on him.
Allen West - Question mark; he’s pro-allowing the people of Texas to vote, but we don’t know how he personally feels about secession.
Don Huffines - Another huge question mark.
Chad Prather - No one can yet tell if he’s truly serious about making a run. He may be the most pro-TEXIT, but so far he won’t engage with us on the issue.

See everyone Monday night. Buckle up.

I don’t know what “demographic question” to which you’re referring.
