Bans don't ever hold up. Far easier to approach it from a "where, why, and how you can bear arms" standpoint

A good outcome but only a step in the process. Hopefully no one went out and sold or destroyed their firearms in preparation. $1,000 fine per day is hefty.

Crime Stats :

Chances of being a victim of violent crime in Deerfield - 1 in 3,600 (in Illinois - 1 in 229)
There were a total of 5 violent crimes reported in Deerfield last year (there were 56,000 in Illinois last year)
So a place with no crime, populated entirely with rich, white professional left leaning voters, doesn't see a need for firearms as a means for protection. Shocker.

Shifty: not a flame, legit question. Lots of people make the same statement but I'm curious how you would handle if the gov did actually come for your guns. I say the same thing, but in my mind I wonder how I would actually handle that knock on the door. Thanks

Just don’t answer the door. What are they going to do, force entry into your residence? Or you could just hide your weapons. If I hide a gun in a wall how will they find it? There are plenty of places to hide weapons in a residence or on property. How much time will they waste searching each house and property?

Physically resist. Make it an ordeal for whoever comes knocking. I guess it would depend on the actual situation. If it's just a local official and maybe a cop or 2, then the above. If it's federal government agents enforcing some new constitutional bullshite amendment like FBI, Homeland Security, ATF or whatever...it would get violent.
