She does not look happy in this video. The apology is short, almost curt. She said "I was raised to respect all faiths and I fell short of that. I sincerely apologize for what I said." And then they moved on quickly to another topic. To me it has the appearance of someone who was forced to apologize. Anybody know if she was forced to apologize by her bosses at ABC?

And fwiw Pence came off looking good in this encounter. He took the high road, which is always a good choice.

If so, it was likely due to pressure from sponsors. In a vacuum, they wouldn’t make her apologize.

I hope she decides to walk into oncoming traffic on I95.

She was 100% forced to apologize. There is audio (maybe even video) from the disney shareholders meeting where a shareholder brings up this exact issue of Joy Behar attacking Christianity. That was when it came out that she had privately apologized to Mike Pence.

One other factor may be at play, although I doubt it. Since Oprah has said the exact same thing as Pence, namely that she was waiting for God to speak to her, Behar was now in a crisis of integrity and conscience. She either goes after Oprah (never gonna happen) or apologizes to Pence.

This. Someone posted that on TD a few days ago and you could tell the Disney CEO was pissed getting called out over it. Especially since he got called out again over Jemele Hill.

Pence may say that he appreciated the heartfelt apology, but that sure wasn't one she gave right there.

That bitch can eat a bag of dicks IMHO. She is the most crass, revolting, classless human being on TV, bar none. She's wicked hateful, a bigot and just generally a waste of human skin.

Is there any video or audio of Oprah saying this? Was she sincere, or was this some kind of shade thrown at Pence? I always thought Oprah was more Scientology leaning than Christian. I may be way off base.

Being forced to apologize to satisfy the Christian women in the audience doesn't mean much. She meant what she said before.

I was about to say nearly the same thing but much less eloquently. Bravo. +1 and it would be more if it was allowed.

“I went into prayer,” she said. “ [I said,] ‘God, if you think I’m supposed to run, you gotta tell me, and it has to be so clear that not even I can miss it.’ And I haven’t gotten that yet.”

One of Several Articles About It

Not sure about her sincerity...I don't think it was throwing shade though.

Good for her.

I strongly detest her as a TV personality but this made me respect her more as a person.

I think it was as sincere as possible.

She said it in an interview with People magazine.

quote:

Amid calls for her to consider a run for the White House — from fans as well as her closest friends — “I went into prayer,” she tells PEOPLE in the magazine’s new cover story. “ ‘God, if you think I’m supposed to run, you gotta tell me, and it has to be so clear that not even I can miss it.’ And I haven’t gotten that.”

The quote from Oprah is particularly relevant because Beharr said this about Pence:
quote:

“It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you… that’s called mental illness.”

Yet chopping off your own balls and dressing up like a woman is normal behavior.

I95 is a big enough mess already. Please pick another location if possible.
