quote:

“Oh my god, there’s a novel respiratory coronavirus overtaking Wuhan, China, what do we do? Oh, you know who we could ask? The Wuhan novel respiratory coronavirus lab. The disease is the same name as the lab. That’s just a little too weird!”

quote:

As an analogy, he added, “There’s been an outbreak of chocolatey goodness near Hershey, Pennsylvania, what do you think happened? I don’t know, maybe a steam shovel made it with a cocoa bean. Or it’s the fricking chocolate factory!”

I don't agree with everything Jon says/thinks, but he's not nearly as full of shite as most Tv talking heads or pundits or whatever. Oh im sure he's definitely full of shite at times, or on certain subjects....compared to shitlibs like Colbert though, he's a paragon of virtue and integrity.

Holy shite… He just absolutely served his apprentice. See kids, Jon Stewart was a professional. He knew what he was doing. Holy shite, he left Colbert with his dick in his hands…

That’s hilarious. Reason why I loved the daily show in the 90s.

Jon has more integrity than every shitty liberal guy on TV combined. He also worked hard to do right by the 9/11 first responders.

I always liked Jon Stewart. What came after him has sucked immensely.

Jon explained it in A,B,Cs &1,2,3s to Colbert and he still couldn’t grasp it. That was glorious though!

No he didn’t. He is just helping Dems change the narrative. If anyone thinks this wasn’t staged, open your eyes now!

Jon Stewart’s rant was a bit. It was all layered in sarcasm. He wasnt really pushing lab leak. Now, that doesnt matter, because there are plenty of legitimate people out there finally admitting lab leak is obviously a viable theory. But we don’t need to be so desperate to be taken in by a comedy act by Jon Stewart.

Maybe you're right, but Colbert seems like he didn't get the memo, or I'm not giving him enough credit as a performer.

Stewart's line "oh how did this happen? I dunno, maybe a pangolin kissed a turtle" was pretty damn good, though.

Stewart has always been well to the Left but he's usually pretty rational about in a way where I can disagree with him but at least see why he came to his conclusion.

Colbert, on the other hand, is the MSNBC of the late night crowd (Sam Bee would be the DU). If someone Far Right created a cure for cancer, AIDS and COVID and it tasted like bubble gum he would reluctantly give them credit but be praying for something negative to come out about that person so he could smear them just because they are on the Right.

quote:

Asked how he’s feeling about the state of the scientific response to COVID-19, Stewart added, “So, I will say this—and I honestly mean this—I think we owe a great debt of gratitude to science. Science has, in many ways, helped ease the suffering of this pandemic, which was more than likely caused by science.”

I don't think it was a bit though. Colbert kept trying to derail him, normally Stewart will drop it after a little while if it's a bit instead he kept going. He seemed to be genuinely going off on a bit of one of his "how the frick can you not see this" rants.

That was outstanding. frick Colbert and all his ilk. Stewart was great.

That article was vomit-inducing though. The writer is downright delusional.

Aren’t these the same people who mocked the lab leak story a year ago? Did they say it was racist to even suggest such a thing? And here they are, clowning around on stage and acting like it’s the most obvious thing in the world that of course it came from the Wuhan lab.

Did I miss the apology? Was there some sort of admission that they were wrong? These people have zero soul

I think maybe some people are remembering Stewart with 15 years of nostalgia. Stewart lost his mind over Bush and helped usher in Obama. He was the vanguard for the fake news meme.

Stewart leaves out the most obvious reason why the lab leak was always the most likely source. The communist Chinese lie about everything and they want to harm their enemies.
