This episode is about the rehab industry. The interesting part is how this industry is non-regulated and how they milk the living frick out of insurance. So, we have yet another industry costing millions upon millions in insurance with no oversight. The industry actually pushes for relapses so they can make more money off the insurance.
Oliver's short bit on urine testing is alarming.
So when you think of universal healthcare, consider these issues and how much we are wastefully spending on "treatment" and how much it's costing us individually.
Yes, I know there are rehab centers that operate with integrity, but this industry needs to be addressed.

Not really, but the fact that he typically exhibits more journalistic integrity than network or cable news channels definitely makes it seem that way

His political bits are center too. Hating on DJT doesnt make someone far left. He is the only mainstream voice of reason left as best i can tell. The right and left are both pushing toward extremes.. we'd be a hell of a lot better off if our discourse went more like his show

John Oliver is pretty good when he has legit points (haven’t watched this one yet to know if it’s the case).
The problem is when he got through all the easier/low hanging fruit topics, the “snarky sophisticated outrage” doesn’t work on fringe topics where he has to stretch the “outrage”.

Didnt he make jokes about their economic decisions being terrible? And pointed out how fricked up it was that their leader is stuffing his face while people starved? He is right to point out that socialism works in other countries because its a fact. It may not be as effective as capitalism but that doesnt make it ineffective
Its not like he cheered them on for being socialist
