John Lewis was never able to help solve the endemic issues of his district.

Those being: poverty, homelessness, and crime.
This is despite billions of dollars in federal development/funding/help. This is the home of MLK.
Why? Because he lacked the fortitude to speak the truth. These problems are largely self created. He didn’t promote abstinence til marriage, he didn’t promote God centered traditional families, he didn’t promote hard work. Instead he pushed welfare, housing vouchers and “community centers” and the result is one of the poorest areas of Atlanta directly adjacent to one of the largest (student pop wise) Universities in the country. A place with numerous built in “advantages” to help such as public transportation.

Wasn't his problem or on his agenda that's why.

Stop being racist Dawgfan. Imagine how much worse it would be with someone else representing the district. He was black and got them to the best place they can be in that district

If he had spoke the truth, he would have been a one term Congressman.

I still love how we call them heroes for civil rights, yet we're told we have issues 60 years later.

Don’t denigrate the name of Saint John Lewis on this board!

There is no money to be made if he fixes the problems.

I’m not, I bet I know his district better than he did. In a back alley 5 minute walk from this funeral some homeless man is shooting up, some whore is giving it up for money, and someone is suffering from preventable disease while lying in a public park.

I will say that race relations must’ve improved when a guy from Troy, AL has three Presidents at his funeral.

With all the TV coverage, you would think he is the greatest man that ever lived. I am familiar with black funerals. When are the women going to throw themselves on the coffin and scream, "No Jesus, take me instead"?

I can probably hazard a guess the type of person John Lewis was based on all the virtue signalling going on rn.

Let's face it, this man could barely speak and lived off of having been beaten by some White good ole boys, for over 55 years.

Which one?

He might’ve been a good person. I feel certain he helped individuals when given the chance. He just squandered a lifetime of chance to help this area. It has history, infrastructure, could be beautiful storefronts and businesses. Instead it’s mostly community centers, “historic” churches where the wealthy influential black community attend, and homeless people. It’s now home to riot like street parties on weekends (not sure if they stopped this yet)

I've always said that Democrats are like the Auto-Glass shop owners who drive around at night shooting out car windows with pellet guns....

No, because only 1/6th of them are black

Nobody is mentioning him lying to stir up racial shite when the ACA passed? He is Jussie Smollett with a better reputation.

John Lewis' fortune was built on the corpses of young dead black men.
By keeping his constituents perpetually angry, poor and uneducated, HE has blood on his hands.

I'll say it:
Herman Cain is a bigger American success story and more worthy of admiration than John Lewis.
