No one is arguing that, but keep deflecting.
The deflection is funny considering that the people who made sure Bobby Jindal had and still has absolutely no political future after the Governor's mansion is republicans who put him in office along with the indies and democrats who usually lean right but the bulk of it was republicans that absolutely smashed his political future.
And I'm one of them. frick Bobby Jindal and his betrayal and his abandonment of Louisiana. We deserved better after all the trust we put in him.

There will be 40 billboards with that picture along I-12 between BR and Hammond by the end of the day tomorrow.

I'll look forward to you continuing to pretend as if the Louisiana GOP is the savior the state needs.

There you go again.
Putting words in my mouth like a real prog.
No wonder you're a trial lawyer yourself. It's the only profession that could tolerate you.

Please elaborate on what you think should happen. Thanks.

Damn NIH - Just reading through this apathetically, you come across as a real dick; trash those of us that live here because your sorry arse is leaving

There’s plenty of great things about Louisiana. Was just being blunt about what I think the problems are.

Louisiana sucks because this state
a.) has a population full of degenerate retards
b.) is 30 years behind the infrastructure of metro areas like Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Charlotte, etc.
c.) Has rarely, if ever, had a completely above board government in the modern era
d.) Is stuck between tax and spend Democrats who want to appease their Medicaid base and Republicans who appeal to fat suburbanites who don't give a shite about the cities (which drive commerce)
I'm glad I left
You really can't say it any more succinctly than that.

I'd like to see our legal climate, with regard to car accidents and lawsuits, at least approximate the national average standards.
Maybe it will fix some things. Maybe it won't. Why are you afraid to try?

I’ve been on record for lowering the jury threshold in exchange for extending the prescriptive period. Lowering the threshold would do the most to harm the mills like Gordon and Morris. But you’re also going to need to increase funding to facilitate the increase in jury trials, and that wasn’t a part of the bill.
The insurance companies also looked to get rid of almost 200 years of a bedrock legal principle in the collateral source rule and wanted to get rid of direct action as well. They just got greedy and showed their hand that this was more about increasing their bottom line than it was lowering rates. Matter of fact, Progressive just filed for a rate decrease less than a month after session ended.

supposed to help bring car insurance rates down more.
Key words being supposed to.
Funny too, even the insurers doubted it, and State Farm AND Progressive have filed for rate decreases.

I know, punishing responsible citizens with health insurance so billion dollar car insurance companies can enjoy the benefit of the premium I pay to BCBS in order for GEICO and State Farm to more money is something I’d like to see too.
But alas, the Legislature thought that a bridge too far.

Collateral Source is a windfall that doesn’t “punish” the evil tortfeasor, it punishes the insurer, which did not harm the plaintiff. It is a abomination and should finally be legislatively overruled.

You reimbursing my premiums for the time I’m using it to treat the injuries from the accident? If that’s on the table then it may be approaching fair and something I can get behind.

We actually agree on something.

Just re-read your post:
By this logic, nothing punishes the tortfeasor and everything punishes the insurance company as the insurance company agreed to stand in the place of the tortfeasor up to a certain amount of money. If I have medicals of $100,000 and you give up your $15,000 in limits then yes, the tortfeasor is harmed to the tune of $85,000 if I choose to pursue an excess.
