NFL Hall of Famer Joe Namath is a Fox News regular — frequently stopping by as a guest on many of the network’s programs. But during an appearance Tuesday on Fox & Friends, Broadway Joe did not toe the Fox line while speaking about the NFL protests. The Super Bowl-winning New York Jets quarterback spoke out in support of the cause of the protests — shining a light on racial and social oppression in the United States. “[G]oing back to what Colin Kaepernick initially did, it was to point out some injustice that’s being done to the black race,” Namath said. “Or to people that obviously when you look — and I say obviously, some of these dash cams and shootings that were done to unarmed people. He was reaching out to try to get it more investigated. So that’s where this oppression thing comes in.” Namath was speaking out in response to Hall of Fame former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka — who told Westwood One that there’s been no oppression in the United States in the last 100 years. Broadway Joe strongly disagreed.

Did he drunkenly ramble this while trying to skip the tongue to Suzy Kolber?

Bull shite. Ain't many people on here that "listens" to Fox more than I do on a normal day and I don't ever remember Namath being a regular on any of their shows. Sounds as if someone is lying to make a point.

Joe Willie is indeed not the brightest bulb but Ditka and the "no oppression in the last 100 years" has got to be one of the most ridiculous statements I have seen anyone make about this whole issue. That's just nuts, either he is just lying to be hyperbolic or he has lost the whole plot and it is drool and Depends time.
ETA for 26 years of Mike's "100 years" black players weren't allowed in the NFL...

You have to forgive Joe. He sometimes thinks he's still in school at Alabama in the early 60's
I wish someone would have the stones to ask Joe "well, you were a student at Alabama before, during, and after it was desegregated. Do you not think the social climate has changed DRAMATICALLY since that time?
When Joe started playing college football black people, strictly because of the color of their skin, weren't even allowed in his school, let alone the football team. Fast forward to 2017 and the current Alabama football team is 75% comprise of black players, playing in front of an adoring crowd of 100,000 people, most of whom are white.

Joe's missing his fame and relevancy. "Broadway Joe", naw, you're gonna be forever remembered as "Wrongway Joe". Lol!

Joe Namath is a drunken fool, but there's no question we have live in a police state and there needs to be push back, even if it's by spoiled millionaire attention whores.

Are we going to ignore the utter insanity of this comment? No one in the USA has been oppressed since 1917?

But Joe grew up going to school and playing sports with black kids.

Mike Brown- Riot- tried to arm himself with Police officers gun. Hands up don't shoot was a fabrication. No one seems to mind it was a lie...but let's take a knee to talk about oppression?
Ashton Sterling- riots- 5 cops assassinated in Dallas over this, later we learned Sterling was armed, shown resisted arrest, warned to stop, and oh by the way, he and was arrested prior 34 times. Not exactly a poster child for oppression or excessive force case.
Trayvon Martin- riot, suspended for stealing from his school, found pouncing on White Hispanic because he looked suspicious walking in the rain in between houses, which the community had been broken into 50 times in 12 months...bad timing I guess, but the media portrayed him a little boy when in fact he was a troubled man.
The Can't breathe story, well, this guy was resisting arrest also, he was doing business again and again without a permit in front of a store front who pays taxes and is licensed and permitted...what kind of man does these things in the face of the law (repeatedly) ? Did he have to die? no but did have to be stupid? no...which came first? It's time to Protest stupidity...
What other dash cam stories do we have? I can think of one last year where the man shot the guy in the back for running away...I don't recall what that was about. that one was legitimate case worthy of being upset about.
the child shot holding up a fake gun, that was terrible. Pretty sure this is extremely rare incident. Chicago shootings are not rare..
so maybe it's time to turn the page?
Maybe it's time to talk about fatherhood?
maybe it's time to talk about marriage"
Maybe it's time to talk about when to start having children?
Maybe it's time to protest ignorance and to stop defending ignorance so we can get passed "I want to be treated equal"...Maybe it's time to stop associating with fools you don't know or what they did or who they are from a character standpoint, wait for facts? I don't understand the support these lawbreakers get from strangers
I fundamentally do not understand this madness.
