Does killing Texans count as an impeachable offense Link to actual order by Acting Energy Secretary David Huizenga

An Emergency Order from the Biden administration’s Department of Energy shows Texas energy grid operator ERCOT was instructed to stay within green energy standards by purchasing energy from outside the state at a higher cost, throttling power output throughout the state ahead of a catastrophic polar vortex.

its sad. these are big stories involving serious loss of life to protect big government pet projects. journalists used to win pulitzers covering stories like these.

today, they are ignored in favor of bashing ted cruz for going on vacation.

ERCOT likely deserves some backlash for certain decisions before and during the storm, but it seems like most people really have no clue what they do or how they are regulated and as a result are putting the blame on ERCOT for actions that were required of them by state and federal government bodies, or simply out of their control due to failures in systems maintained by other REs.

yep. people dont realize how heavily regulated these utilities are. many of the decisions that hit your bill the hardest are imposed by governments, and the utility gets blamed.

No, they didn't. This nonsense started with InfoWars/Alex Jones.

quote:

On Feb. 14, the same day ERCOT sent its letter, the Energy Department issued an emergency order granting ERCOT’s request.

"Given the emergency nature of the expected load stress … I have determined that additional dispatch of the Specified Resources is necessary to best meet the emergency and serve the public interest," Huizenga wrote. "Because the additional generation may result in a conflict with environmental standards and requirements, I am authorizing only the necessary additional generation, with reporting requirements as described below."

The emergency order applied predominantly to coal and natural gas plants. The Energy Department stipulated that ERCOT should "exhaust all reasonably and practically available resources" to "minimize an increase in emissions."

Many Facebook posts center on stipulations of the emergency order that permitted ERCOT to exceed emissions standards only under specific emergency levels. Those stipulations did not prevent Texas from ramping up its power production.

In an emailed statement, the Energy Department told PolitiFact that its order "allowed specified power plants to generate up to their maximum capacity in order to manage the expected increase in electricity demand."

So the OP's article and your quoted article are both actually true at the same time. The information in your quoted article actually supports the OP - that Texas had to look elsewhere for energy to "minimize an increase in emissions."

The problem is that no one should be giving a frick about emissions during a natural disaster.

Finally - Politifact is not an unbiased fact checker by any stretch of the imagination.

So, WHY during the middle of a once-in-a-lifetime snow storm in f*cking TEXAS is this ignorant mother f*cker only "authorizing on the necessary additional generation"? CLEARLY, he was f*cking wrong about the "additional generation" that was required. AND, why does Texas have to get "authorization" from one of these climate hoax INSANE F*CKING NUTJOBS to get the fuel it needs to protect its people?

Clearly, all you did was regurgitate your INSANE leftwing f*cking NUTJOB talking point. Why? Because that's all leftist f*cking MORONS, LIKE YOU, have. You think you made some sort of "gotcha" point, but you just proved what the OP reported and you made yourself look like a complete f*cking IGNORANT talking-point-regurgitating arse.
