Want to bet, every person who gave money to Trump or attended Trump rallies that can be identified will suddenly be audited.

That’s an excessive amount of money.

On principle alone, I don’t disagree with the concept of finding and prosecution of tax fraud. But under Obama they targeted conservatives. Hard to fathom how this isn’t a tool to do more of that.

Maybe they can worry about dealing with the massive fricking backlog and overall incompetence of the IRS with the money instead. I still have clients awaiting responses from letters sent over 8 months ago that haven't been dealt with.

is this the program where they are going to spend $80 Billion but only estimate to recover $70 Billion. That sounds about right for a OBiden program. Cost us more money than its worth.

That would be cost-effective in a prog's mind and worth every penny if conservatives are the target.

I’d let him do it. They get back $6 for every dollar they spend in enforcement.

80 billion dollars to the IRS to target Trump supporters just like Obama did with the Tea Party.

Not that they were ever a well-oiled machine, but they've clearly deteriorated as an agency over the last several years. That was bound to happen with them operating on basically the same budget as a decade ago despite additional complexities introduced by reform.

There need to be safeguards and oversights to make sure they aren't targeting based on political affiliation but don't expect things to improve at current funding levels.

Pretty sure I heard Biden funneled around 13 million of his income into two S-corporations a few years ago to avoid tax.
