None of that happened in real life. It was campaign fluff

He managed to convince people he was a great guy, but reports say he was a a$$ to many people, including his secretary in the White House he wouldn’t even say hello to. He actively meddled in US foreign policy post presidency in ways that would be considered treasonous. He observed elections and called Venezuela’s election fair accurate, when all reports were to the contrary. He was a friend to dictators and terrorists. He was not a good guy.

The black Evangelical and the white Evangelical churches too different roads.

The black church moved away from the idea of the afterlife and towards a heaven on earth idealism. This is also the direction that mainline Protestantism took from the 1920s till now.

The white church went through a fundamentalist phase, and then it's evangelical phase. They took God as a serious and real truth behind the myth to paraphrase Tolkien and Lewis.

The white evangelical church had to confront it's own problems especially in the Baptist and Methodist ranks culminating in the early 2000s when open racial segregation was finally removed.

I believe the path the white church took, while longer remained correct, much of the black church looks towards man, MLK, and the democratic party for leadership.

The white Evangelical church still looks towards God in spite it's problems.

Because without a real God who made His will and desires known through the bible, it's all meaningless BS and a bunch of wackos.

Actual descendant of slave owners. Everything he had was earned on the backs of the Negro race. Never paid reparations. Nothing done of note for the Negro when he became president.

Action Jackson loves him for some reason. I guess being a Democrat is enough for some people.

I never called him that. But after he became President I called him a loser, wrecker of the economy. He, Obama. and Biden were the three worst Liars, in a profession where Liars flourish.

I laugh when I read that Carter was a great guy.
He wasn’t.
He was a petty, vindictive nag, who was a humble man only in his own mind’s legend making.
I lived through Carter.
Post-presidency, he should have been charged with treason.

You read the NRO Klein article too?

He and his wife just assumed that if you voted for Reagan you were racist. Their arrogance knew no bounds.

Again, he wasn’t all that good a man. He violated the Logan Act whenever possible - especially when Reagan a Bush were in office but also traveled to N Korea to corner Bill Clinton and vastly increase the likelihood of NKorean nuclear aggression. He compared Kohmeni to Gandi. He sung praise to and for Castro. He loved Ortega. He kissed Arafat’s hairy arse whenever he got the chance. He loved Hamas and predicted they would live in peace with Israel. He was a grade A antisemite who lied that Israel was an apartheid state and that Jews were driven by avarice. All of this was AFTER he was a bad President and was busy being a ‘good’ man. Only Jalopy Joe beat him at being more wrong about foreign policy. He banged in a few nails for poor people, great. But his foundation didn’t improve the 40 or so shite hole countries it endorsed. (Maybe because it wasn’t the ‘right’ kind of communism?) I guess if he taught Baptist Sunday School that is good enough for some of you who purport not to worship men. But the preponderance of his life after the White House shows more of an arrogant, jealous, and vindictive nature that was driven by the denial of the crushing rejection delivered to him by the American electorate. Sorry if your feelings are hurt..

Touche nailed it. Golf clap.

No. But maybe what I read quoted it. I have run across numerous articles pointing out what a jerk/traitor he really was.

He was an “ok” guy as far as modern humans go, which is still pretty bad and a HORRIBLE president.
