So using the rights described in the Bill of Rights should disqualify a US citizen from elected office? Absurd.
Rubin should just write that “being named Donald Trump should disqualify a person from elected office” and be done with that tactic.

If taking the 5th disqualifies you from office, lying in a court proceeding or as a witness to a Congressional investigation should also disqualify you from office or any Federal government position.

Seriously though, in this day and age, our 5th amendment right is one of the most valuable we have. If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, do not talk to police or any other authorities. JUST DON'T DO IT. You have nothing to gain. I don't care what they tell you, you have nothing to gain. Every single person in the country, if they are a defendant and asked to testify should take the 5th. Every time without fail. I cannot fathom why anyone would ever testify or talk to police. They will try to scare you. Don't do it.
