AP Story yesterday on how lack of Flood recovery programs leave vicitms out in cold

Advocate story earlier this month says JBE has yet to come up with flood speending plan

John Kennedy called out JBE last month for lack of a spending plan on flood money

I'm seeing a pattern here and JBE either has very little clue whatsoever on how to spend the federal money or he's intentionally dragging his feet for some political bullshite. The congressional delegation is getting increasingly frustrated with his procrastination and one reason I suspect is that JBE is trying to find a way to make sure any plan he does come up with favors democrats and poors over republicans who voted for him.

Sure he has, but is trying to figure how to get the money to his friends and supporters without it being too noticeable.

He's probably keeping it as leverage during the special session.

You have two asswipes in Dardenne and Angelle to blame for that. They effectively froze and depressed GOP turnout for Vitter or at least turned enough of them towards JBE when they made an irrelevant 15 year old story that has nothing to do with governance a bipartisan political issue. All because they didn't give a shite keeping a tax and spend liberal out of the governors mansion.

Angelle paid a hefty price for that kind of betrayal when he lost congress to a reality youtube star cop of all people last month. A Vitter super pac got revenge when they backed Higgins. Angelle is irrelevant know and its a deserved fate.

Dardenne was smart enough to know he's done in GOP politics running for elected office so he took a cushy state job to pad his pension and he'll have enough when his four years are up.

Kennedy needs to gather support to pressure JBE to start spending in 30 days or risk losing the funds or having them turned over to the feds for spending.

Meanwhile me any my neighbors wait patiently while our houses come closer and closer to falling into the Amite river. Where my backyard used to be 40 feet, boat house, bulkhead. It is now about 5 square feet, with the river under both corners of the slab of my house.

Anyyyyyy day now Edwards. Anyyyyy day now.

I am curious beerJeep what you are expecting the state to do in your situation?

The larger point IMHO is why aren't bridges being repaired in a quick manner?
All across the Florida Parishes people are have to drive around flood damaged bridges. JBE's folks are tell people it will be a year before they fix them. No work at all is being done it seems.

The good news is that somebody told JBE he looked bad calling for tax increases and having the state pay his way for his Italian vacation so he says now he will pay for it. Is there any question that the money will come from his campaign? perhaps from the pay to play fund DOTD vendors laughed up for his brother?

Having been denied by FEMA when I appealed for more money and the absolute disaster that was the LA Shelter At Home Program, frick this government and frick this governor.

I'm sick and tired for being denied help because I went to college, got a good job, and didn't pump out 10 kids. I'm sick and tired of being offered programs (re: scams) that benefit contractors rather than those who actually lost homes.

Well, right now it's a huge blame game between the feds/corps. Fema. And the Parish on who is responsible for the river. Feds/corps are saying it's the parish. Parish saying it's femas problem. Fema is saying it's the feds/corps problem.

As of the last meeting our neighborhood had, the main option being looked at was a total buyout and conversion to green space. The second is shoring up the riverbank via the corps.

At this point, we just want to wipe or hands of the problem and get bought out or receive the max payout from insurance.

But since "flood" insurance doesn't cover land shift and land erosion that happens weeks after a flood (despite the flood being the only cause), we got cut a SWEET 137 dollar check from allstate.

But yeah the bridge problem is horrible too. My parents live in walker and a bridge out there washed out... Got "repaired" and got washed out again last week. Pathetic.

Why would I be melting?

This fricker is good as gone in 2019 when JBE has to defend his tax and spend liberal record in a red arse state and he won't have the benefit of the GOP candidates eating each other alive like they did to Vitter.

Enjoy it while you can ambulance chaser.
