Michael Scott is a well-intentioned buffoon. I really think with James Comey there is malintent there. At the very least he is able to be manipulated by bad actors.

I've been conflicted about Comey from the git-go. I am not sure he is working with mal-intent. I think he considers himself some above-it-all-fixer who is responsible for making sure the 'right' thing happens and that he is the only one in charge of deciding who is 'right.'
Now the others in the mal-odrama did have malicious intent - McCabe, Strzck, Page, Yates, Rice, Clapper, Brennon, Lynch, Kerry, et al were all actively working to protect Hillary (and by extension Obama) from the consequences of her lawlessness, and looking for ways to "get Trump - by misusing the 'law'." Hence the 'insurance plan."
I really think Comey was genuinely conflicted - not being able to manage his ego-maniacal super-moral image of himself with the facts he had to deal with.

Micheal Scott didn't leak classified into to the WSJ, then lie about it, then hire a co-conspirator as council.
Scott is a baffon with good intentions. Comey actually intends to be self serving and doesn't think the law applies to him.

I disagree.
My view is that Comey has been a closet Democrat Liberal for his entire life. Comey's intent has been to undermine and hurt Trump in covert ways ever since Trump was elected.
Now that Comey's been "outed", he is no longer covert in his hatred of Trump. He's out in the open and trying to please his Globalist Democrat Masters as best he can now, in order to save himself from the wrath of the mass media, which the Left controls almost completely.
So Comey is now working completely openly and he realizes that any serious person who analyzes things objectively would see him as the Dem Shill that he's always been. He doesn't care about that now, because in order for him to save himself from the wrath of mass media, he MUST make it plain that he is all-in on trying to destroy Trump.
THAT, my friends, is the TRUTH about James Comey.
