i'm asking who OP is encountering in their day to day life that is acting like a new covid strain is christmas day.
i have several friends that lean hard left, none of them are celebrating.

Very close. But it's more of a corporate oligarchy and ruling class and then communism for the masses. All of these corporations are jockeying to see which will survive once the ruling class starts to select a single "vendor" for each service.
