With more reported cases than the state of New York. Yeah I know China’s numbers aren’t to be believed, but that’s still a staggering thought.

Is NY's numbers the result of a higher rate of testing? It is staggering.....

The after action reports from epidemiologists (if done objectively) will be fascinating.

So this is Cuomo and DeBlasios virus, right? How did they wait so long to enforce social distancing?

I can't believe he just closed the parks this week.

NYC is the most densely populated hunk of ground in the US. Much like Lombardy in Italy.

Pop density seems to have a rather large effect on the transmissiblity of the Kung Flu. As to be expected.

Perhaps, but you can’t cook the numbers on deaths, and they are currently top 8 globally. Bottom line: leadership blew it. They wanted to politicize corona against Trump by ignoring early federal containment guidance and urging folks to NOT self isolate, and now they have a big problem.

It's hard not to think there's some benign neglect going on in the EU towards Italy and Spain.

I remember a story weeks back as cases started to sprout across the country about a guy in NY that lived in the suburbs and had corona and was riding the train into work. That right there, in a city that big and dense, was enough to start a massive spread.
