You need to learn to view the world as it is, rather than how you think it ought to be.
Putin will get just about everything he wants no matter what we do, short of sending our own troops in. Plant that fact firmly in your head… that anything short of other countries becoming more directly involved, Putin will get almost everything he wants. He will get the eastern portion of Ukraine. He will get a land bridge from Russia to Crimea. Ukraine will NEVER be in NATO or the EU. The only thing there is to negotiate is how much land ultimately becomes a part of Russia. And that’s the only thing that can be negotiated on from Russias viewpoint.
Ukraine is a different story. They can be offered things in exchange for peacefully accepting their losses.
