I think on this board we agree (somehow; not many doctors here) that if this thing works it works when you give it early. If somebody is hospitalized, that's not "early." Not sure anybody is looking at effectiveness when given "early."

It has to be given early and with zinc, to my understanding.
Its basically the vehicle that allows zinc to work its magic (science)

Triple Cocktail
HCG+Zinc+Azithromicin - given within the first 5 days of infection has a 96(?)% success rate
Ivermectin+Zinc+AZN - same, 99(?)% success rate
or thereabouts
anything after day 6..day 7, the effectiveness drops signifigantly. By day 8 or 9, it's almost completely ineffective

It's not designed specifically to treat Covid, so it shouldn't be expected as a perfect drug for this application. But if it improves outcomes for some people, it should be used until a better drug is in place.
There's more nuance to the HCL debate than "Trump mentioned it, therefore it's bad". Some doctors are prescribing this drug to patients and have been for a while. The big bombshell study that claimed the drug cocktail didn't improve outcomes was massively flawed.

Why wasn’t Herman Cain given hydroxychloroquine when he was diagnosed with the China virus? I truly wonder if his medical team didn’t want him to live because they are disgusting liberals who didn’t want to see a black man supporting Trump.

The last I heard on HCQ was a shouting Neil Cavuto screeching that it'll kill all of us as a rope of mucus hung from his gaping lips and his eyes began to roll back into his skull.

Great......except that 96% of people weren't going to have severe cases anyway....so are we SURE it's the HCQ?

Had a talk with my doctor aboit this.
to make it simple i explain it simple
HCQ is the bus to get the warrior drugs (zinc and other drugs) into the cells to fight the covid.
HCQ by itself will do nothing without the warrior drugs in the bus.
He also said the doctors who performed the studies with HCQ only should be prosicuted for murder.

yes, exactly I would add, that the problem with this treatment is timing. The effectiveness is problematic, because most people that realize they may have been infected, dont show symptoms or get tested until infection+4days. The lag time makes this treatment difficult to keep up with

A close friend works directly in infectious diseases and is working on 2 different COVID trials. he is a straight shooter and is as conservative as they come.
He tells me there is absolutely no consistent evidence that HCQ does much of anything. He really wishes it did.

with or without Zinc/Azithromicin?
Every study I've seen that's (HCQ + nothing) says it's completely ineffective

Apparently the results with those other drugs are in some trials worse WITH HCQ. So there's just no evidence it does much.
