I became a believer in the 60s when seat belts became mandatory, then shoulder straps, then air bags.

Today I learned that this dangerous item requires approval for check out at Walmart:

A slippery slope is simply a progressive advancement of a plan by those who want to change the culture but realize it has to be done a little bit at at a time.

:scoffs in angry french accent: The slippery slope is a design flaw inherent in the common law legal system and its concept of stare decicis. No such concept pollutes the superior civil law. :smokes cigarette:

He is a good State poster but I haven't seen him in a while.

But, the concept is very real. In fact, it happens every day whether it's our personal decisions or decisions made by companies or governments.

Seatbelts, shoulder harness and airbags are such a burden to the white man.

I don't believe that every conceivable thing launches us onto an insurmountable slippery slope, but I certainly believe that small changes are easier than big changes, so any small change makes future small changes in that direction easier. Anyone who tells you otherwise, no matter the subject, is either lying, stupid, or both.

Liberals in places like Ohio and Pennsylvania have already decided that you need to produce identification to purchase such illicit items as children's cough syrup and drain cleaner, ironically proving Trump's "ID to buy groceries" comment true.

Slippery slope is only a fallacy when you can’t demonstrate a logical progression from one step to the next.

Most of the time, what liberals call a slippery slope fallacy is common sense.

Ehh, only sometimes. I’d argue that it’s more often the result of successive generations adopting the previous changes as the new norm and looking for ways to build off it. It’s continual disconent with the status quo that makes the slope slippery far more often than it’s the master plan if some maniacal genius thinking generations in advance at a time.

But yea, to answer the OP, it definitely happens. Folks who don’t believe it simply don’t want to.

I didn't ask the girl. I just said 'These are restricted?' And she said "yes, they are."

Maybe some boys use them to burn off nose hairs.

Ohio also does not mandate helmets on motorcycles. I will wear one when in Ohio, but it is my choice thank you very much. Calling Ohio a lib place is offensive.

PS: MAGA.

ETA: What cough syrup do refer to?
