Is New York’s numbers of deaths accurate?
Posted by Upperaltiger06 on 4/23/20 at 12:41 pm01
I’ve calculated daily for 3 weeks. New York consistently averages 42-48% of the US deaths. How is this possible? I understand the transportation, people stacked, etc. arguments, but there are more population dense cities all over Asia. There are subways in other cities. Is there a biological explanation or is this a data problem (ie cooking the books)?

It is the powderkeg of the US for this thing, high density and mass transit. Plus you have the weather, people are inside where the virus does best.
I don't think NYC is really out of line with what we are seeing in Europe.

Cuomo today claims 14% of NewYork (2.7 million) have had the virus. If so the death rate would be 0.75 % in a”hot spot”. Past time to open up.

And this is why Russia's numbers aren't worth diddly on their low death rates. It's the damn ice box of the populated world and right now they are showing only 555 deaths. Their numbers are more laughable than China's.

Why should we believe anything Cuomo says, or has control over. He's a proven liar.

Probably accurate, and it demonstrates De Blasio, Cuomo, and rest of the NY Dem's failure to protect the city. Large parts of the country were already taking measures to reduce the spread while De Blasio refused to do anything. Schools in fricken Nebraska were shut down several days NYC closed their schools. They have an enormous death rate compared to the rest of the country, and it falls on dem leadership
