Is Mike Huckabee as arse in real life?

He always comes across as an “oh gosh” Gomer Pile type on tv. It seems genuine but I can’t tell anymore after the Steve Harvey ordeal. Does anyone have first hand experience with him?

He was Governor of Arky: I'm sure he had to get after lots of asses. Reminds me of Mack Brown, great salesman, but I heard you don't want to piss him off.

I know anecdotal but about two weeks after one his presidential runs, I ran into him in line at Subway here in the DC area and he could not have been nicer.
We discussed his next steps and what not, and really was pumped about time with his family.

That’s good to hear. I want to like the guy it’s just hard to trust any public figure these days. For the record I’ve never heard anything bad about him.

I have a close friend who worked for him when he was Governor. He told me he was a great to work for.

When I lived in Stuttgart, he would come over for the World's Duck Calling Contest. He'd always stop by the Duck Gumbo contest and was great with the crowd. Very friendly and always came in the front door so he could work the whole crowd before getting on stage and playing bass.
He's the only governor I've known to have a bass boat. He'd go fish the Arkansas River as often as possible.
When Arkansas was renovating the Governor's Mansion, he and Janet moved into a mobile home and he had some great jokes about that temporary move.

i have a friend that is a private pilot that used to fly for a billionaire highly connected in the RNC.
He has flown Trump Jr, Eric, Ivanka and Jared, Hannity, Huckabee, Cruz, and a ton others. We were living in their garage apartment last Sept - Dec while our house was being remodeled. He was gone all over the country during the election.
He had nothing but nice things to say about Huckabee. Said he was incredibly personable and friendly.
Not so much a few of the others. nothing terrible by any means. Cruz is friendly but awkward. Don Jr. is pretty arrogant.
