Is it wise to keep bringing up hate crimes of the 1950's ?

Documentary out on Untold story of Emmett Louis Till... Mother wanted an open casket...to show all in attendance what hate looked like...Case is being reopened for justice...
My wife says it's good to keep showing what hate does and will help people today ..
I think it opens wounds that don't need to be opened and prevents progress...on race relations....
some Black fathers today are teaching their sons to be on guard in today's society, is this a good thing or a bad thing? She says good, I say I don't think it's good...
Wife says I only see things as a white man...
I try to make arguments to why I think it might be negative, she shuts down "I am tired and you want to fight"

I wanted to ask her, "do you expect Black people to view the world as though they are whites?"
Would black people be ok if I warned my son "Black men might be dangerous, be on guard"
that would racist right?
I am just trying to figure out how to move forward...
I don't like the unspoken notion whites are racist, or supremacist or cops are against blacks....just tired of the politics of this issue
I acknowledge racism exists...but I think we're way passed killing 14 year black boys who whistle at a married white woman. What was done to that boy is unthinkable and how he was treated in court, unthinkable...
I get why blacks were not trusting...but dang we've come along way so much so we look for ways to give a pass when one isn't necessary o right in certain situations for fear of being labeled by the PC mob....

are you talking about the case where the cop thought the 12 year old had a real gun?
that wasn't a hate crime, it was a horrible mistake in judgement.
tragedy beyond believe for sure
Pretty sure the cop pays for that mistake the rest of life...

Don’t worry, racism is a cottage industry and if there isn’t any racism, liberals will find some anyway. I randomly flipped on BBC radio today and of course they were discussing American slavery. Never let it die.

I'm referring to the "Civil Rights Era" of roughly BvBoE to about 1970. This is the Civil War for today's left, with martyrs like Schwerner Goodman and Chaney that can be canonized, confrontations like Selma that can be romanticized into modern Gettysburgs, especially by limo libs who never left the safety of Beverly Hills.
As the tear down statues movement gains power, we will see more statues of this era's heroes erected in their place

The problem is, liberals won’t accept that equality has been achieved. They always need a cause and a victim to find meaning in their lives, and don’t care that it nurtures divisiveness and resentment.
