My initial instinct was how this is a lifeline for Democrats, but what if we've all been so scarred by losing the last 5 years that we have simply forgotten what winning looks like?

What if normal Americans are so annoyed at the left and what if pro abortion radicals were already maximum engaged as Lou Pais graphic shows?

I'm open to sitting this one out and just praying it doesn't slow our red wave. I'm moderately anti abortion - this is not my issue.

The media will do their best to poison anyone who turns on their computer, phone, or the idiot box.

Consider that America is the only country that allows infanticide to the level that we do, and then reconsider if abortion is as accepted as the media tells you.

IMO this makes the red areas redder and the blue areas bluer. So what's to come of the purple areas? Well I can see purple areas with high populations of Hispanics getting redder. These people are traditionally a lot more culturally conservative than white Americans with generalized Christian traditions. These people are mostly Catholic and were raised to hate abortion.

That's exactly what the response from the right should be.

This is a manufactured event, and the left is rioting in an attempt to divide Americans in the same way the did it with COVID, and the riots. Meanwhile, inflation is 10%+ with no desire to fix it.

Just remember that a lot of people are hurting financially right now and have realized that the Democrats are not living in reality. This issue isn't going to offset the impoverished state they have been subjected to since the Democrats took over.

Also, it will be difficult to maintain the same heightened level of indignation for the next 6+ months.

Excellent point.

I think people are going to be surprised by how little this moves the needle politically.

Also I don't care if Mississippi voters decide on abortion for their state. I want gas to stop being $130 a fill up

The pro abortion crowd are about as radical as it gets. They are the true voting base of the democrat party and that will never change.

The vast majority of people are either pro life or at least indifferent on the matter.

I don’t see it moving the needle very much either way.

This is potentially a huge victory for us State’s Rights folks like myself.

I don't see it. Michigan is the exact type of state that can go either way in an election. You have the conservative Amway mafia on the west side of the state, Detroit is obviously liberal, and everything is decided by the suburbs. So, this may cost Republicans congressional seats. Also, Whitmer will whip up all the soccer moms into a frenzy now. In fact, her championing women's choice may get her over the hump when she could have faced a tough election fight this year.

Winning makes conservatives want to vote GOP. Losing, conceding, compromising makes conservatives stay home.

How has the Right not figured this out? They try to get elected, but they’re too scared to do anything once in office. We are finally ending the era of infanticide, and the Right is crying as much as the Left. Pathetic.

Culture war is war. It is not enough to fend off your enemy, you must vanquish him. It is not enough to vanquish your enemy, you must humiliate him. Never do your enemy a minor injury.

No it blew everything for the Republicans. The Democrats will have money and energy. The Republicans are now on the defensive and the next polls, will probably show a dramatic shift to the Democrats. This was the ace they had. I’m sure they knew this draft would be leaked by one of the justices (Breyer) or a clerk.

Nope.

Giving the Dems something to unite around will end up in disaster for the Republicans.

Yep. There are severals ways to keep from having babies if you don't want one but finding enough money to live on comfortably, or at all, is less optional.

Your initial instinct was correct. The democrats orchestrated this whole thing. Why did they do that? Too help the Republicans?

If you call winning falling for the most obvious trap set out in the open a win, then yes, we are winning. If you call something that will allow democrats to inflame their base, we won. If you say giving the democrats a cause to rally around d and ignore the disaster of their actual policies right before midterm elections, then yes, we won.

Hint, we did all those things and that is called losing.

I would agree the radicals are maxed out. But this will allow the democrats to win the independents, the suburban moms, all of those different groups because the main stream media is going to be yelling how bad Republicans are.

Everyone knew this was there only play. They had no chance to hold the midterms. They were set for a loss of truly epic proportions.

Unless the Republicans were to frick with this before the midterms. After the midterms it would be fine. It had to happen before the midterms.

The timing is perfect for fall out from this ruling to start to play out everywhere. It happens perfectly time so the dem candidates can get the message out.

And just the right amount of time so people don't refocus on the truly awful leadership of the democrats.

It is a loss. It is a loss that was easily avoidable. It is a loss that many of us have been seeing coming for a year. And yet Republicans walk right into it. And even when they got totally played, and even when even the dumbest among us realize we have been totally played, many still say, hey we ended up doing exactly what the democrats wanted and all, and shot ourselves in the head, but hey, maybe we won.

a vast majority of the country is in favor of some sort of abortion rights. The draft also basically says they will come for gay marriage next. I don't think this will help republicans.

On top of that you have a republican group that has already stated the second Roe v Wade is overturned, they plan to try to get a bill(once republicans win all branches again) to make abortion illegal in all states. So people in blue states who are pro choice do actually have something to worry about.
