You could say everything you hate about New Orleans is because of the same.

Might be a reference to the fact that Slaves built all those 150 year old + buildings in the French Quarter and the Garden District.

You think illiterate slaves were skilled craftsmen? That’s cute.

Not that I agree on any level that they are responsible for the foundation of New Orleans or any city in America but if they want to play that card then giving them a free cruise with stop overs too has to count for something . Free room and board with most having the freedom of enjoyment of the beautiful out doors before the the push to live in urban cities . Living in these cities wasn’t a good move for them as most complain now that it’s unsightly, crime ridden and the educational opportunities are not what was expected by them . Unfortunately when previous owners of these cities left they moved to the suburbs and are enjoying the sights themselves .

As someone who grew up there and was a product of a family with generations there, this infuriates and saddens me deeply.

Subsaharan Africans built the pyramids, were kangs n shite, and designed and built all the buildings in New Orleans.

Talk about a racist profile statement. That's cute.
I have met people that could not read a street sign and are the best mechanics in the country. Can take a huge Diesel engine down or a 1960 corvette down to every screw and then put them back together again. Cannot read a manual either.
And people that can build a house with almost every trade themselves to perfection. Or musicians that cannot read a note.

Isn’t Jackson Square a national historic landmark? Doesn’t that give it some protections from changing it or removing the statue?

I'm going to lose if if they take away Tivoli Circle. I won't have them destroying the history of gardens in Lazio!
