It does not appear to take a lot of intellect ... well, we already knew that with Granny in office. And whose running these campaigns? Are the voters in Alabama really so stupid? ... I'm basing that on the dumbass comments made in the ads running every day. I've only heard one targeted attacked worth mentioning - Alabama schools. If you want to bring it up .. go after her... "we have even fallen behind Mississippi" or something that catches people's attention. Then make a comment "that will change under my administration".

The only person I know that would likely be a great Governor isn't running ... the Mayor of Huntsville.

Still waiting to hear more, but this is the only person running who made some intelligent, targeted comments when he announced. Not sure he'll have the money to compete...

Interesting story about him here ... Under Lew's Story ...

Yeah, I saw Burdette’s ad this past weekend too. Pretty remarkable story. He seems to check all of the boxes.

- Conservative
- Legit Real World experience
- Not a yahoo playing to the lowest common denominator.

Liking what he’s saying so far. I’m sure MeeMaw is expecting to just dump a few million in ads and not do much else. It’s sad that the GOP voters will probably reward her for that….again.

Alabama is a slave to the federal printing press. No one gets elected who threatens to disrupt that.

It should be interesting though if one of them get into a runoff. Wonder if Tim James will call for reducing Nick Saban’s salary again?

That is a painful truth to hear.

What has happened in Mississippi schools under 16 years of GOP leadership is a miracle and its a crime that it isn't being reported.

From consensus 49th or 50th to above the national average. Alabama did just take our reading plan and implement it. Its been key in the turnaround.

As a resident of the Great State of Alabama, I look at other States, like Louisiana, Georgia, and NY and that makes me feel a lot better about MeeMaw.

Overcoming Birmingham city and Montgomery County schools deficiencies may be a wall too high to climb.

Even Democrats fear and respect Richard Shelby and the power he has had with appropriations.

No one outside DC seems to have a clue about how much money and contracts he’s flowed to Alabama in the last 20 years, but he basically built Huntsville with Redstone, the research park filled with contractors getting rich on federal contracts and the FBI moving in and there are buildings all over UA and AU that were built thanks to him.

Don’t like his brand of politics, but the man was massively effective as a swamp politician for the state and when he retires the state will lose sway in DC.

Yeah, Shelby is a total swamp creature but you can't hate on him for playing the game as well as he could for Alabama.

Jackson had been a lost cause in Mississippi for decades and they are making it work.

Looks like the Burdette campaign heard you…

A gerbil could have pushed those contracts to Redstone and Huntsville. The FBI expansion yes.

I'm a pro-Trump, conservative, political outsider. These are seemingly the only qualifications to be on the ballot.
