I think the mass layoffs was to get rid of the non workers and provide that ability to select who they rehire.

This had to be done.
It happens in the corporate world all the time. Cut bloat. How much bloat is there? How many unnecessary employees do we have. They cut. If there are no negative effects, they cut some more. They keep having rounds of layoffs until production is negatively impacted.
Then they start hiring again. Wash, Rinse, and repeat every few years...
The government NEVER does this. It just keeps getting more and more bloated. Until now.

Absolutely correct. Always knew there would be a correction of some sort. The agencies never fully cooperate with staffing reductions, so drastic cut drills are the way to go especially with the bloat created by Biden. There are many great federal employees but also a lot that do very little…and know how to fight against cuts.

About 50 staff from the IRS Taxpayer Experience Office were told Thursday that the reduction in force they’d been given notice for in April is no longer happening, according to an affected employee.

Blah, blah, blah. The 87k not being hired is a win and they aren’t hiring back nearly the number that were sixed. Only a Panican will bite this shiny arse hook

So is this something like they let go of 26k people and are bringing back 50?
Here is another example of people freaking out over nothing.
I thought this board was an echo chamber, not a retard chamber.

If it’s like every other previous government drawdown, then it’s more like publicly cut 26k, and then quietly add 27k who happen to have more favorable political beliefs.
