Interracial couple says critical race theory ‘hurts’ people of color

Seems like more and more people are rejecting the nasty, racist tenets of CRT

Oak Park actively integrated in the 1960s and 1970s, thanks to years of local activism. Now, the couple believes critical race theory is harming that progress and “dumbing down” issues around race and equality.
“Our school that our kids go to, there’s a lot of questions coming from the community about why not more black students are on grade level,” Takyrica said.
“We are looking to explain it away using critical race theory. Instead of us actually digging deep and looking into all the nuances that are involved with school achievement, we’ve watered it down. We’ve dumbed down the reason now to ‘It’s because the system is racist.'”
In fact, the couple believes the critical race theory movement underestimates and oppresses people of color.
“We believe that it hurts our black and brown community that the message is: ‘You’re a victim. You can never make it until we tear down all these systems and structures,” Martin said.
“Black people overcame slavery, Reconstruction and Jim Crow… and all of a sudden black people cannot succeed?”
The controversial ideology is also harmful and confusing to interracial children.
“Our kids, are they half-oppressor, half-victim? How does that work?” Martin asked.

They’ve noticed the soft bigotry of low expectations.

People who support critical race theory are the type of people that already have a problem with interracial couples. You know, bigots.

This is obviously correct.
I was talking about this with my 14 year old son a few weeks ago because more so than most topics this one really animates me. I'll turn 51 tomorrow, and it pisses me off to no end that despite the vey OBVIOUS strides the country has made in terms of race relations from the time I was born until now, that we have so clearly taken huge steps backwards undermining essentially everything my generation was taught to believe and how to behave.
But I was telling him about all this, and he asked why the switch from Equal opportunity to Equity. I explained it much the way this woman explains here...because despite actual equal opportunities for decade upon decades at this point, results are still not equal...and if you're unwilling or unable to take personal responsibility for your actions which may be playing a large role in that underachieving, the next step is to find someone to blame. Hence...Systemic Racism makes it impossible to succeed.
And once you've got enough black people believing that they are unable to achieve because white people systemically prevent it, not only does that make EVERY white person an enemy, but it makes an entire race essentially give up trying to be any better. It would be hard to create a better system to destroy both a race and a country than this.

“We are missing something as educators,” said Kokoszka. “To me, we left some very smart and talented kids (behind), and we got on them about a uniform, their ID. … I think those things have a large impact, and it’s mostly students of color that are affected by that type of attention.”

Reminds me of a story I heard where a storm had hit the coast the night before and had washed up many creatures such as starfish, fish, etc...a beach walker comes by at the dawn as a man is bending over and tossing the creatures back into the water one at a time. The beach walker comes to the man and says “Sir why are you wasting you time? There are literally thousands on creatures that washed up in the storm, you can’t possibly save them all!” The man picks up a starfish and puts it back into the water, he turns to the beach walker and says “I might not be able to save them all but I just made a difference in this one’s life!” The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.

If you give more credence to the opinions of people because they are interracial then that just plays into their narrative that white opinions do not matter.

I don't GAF what color they are.

This is good, but it isn't being publicly rejected by anyone who will actually make a difference yet. Society as a whole needs to publicly shun and shame anyone who supports this horseshite.

Keeping your headphones in during class is not a little thing. It shows that the student gives zero fricks about the subject material and it shows no respect for the teacher.

Everything democrats do hurts people of color.
EVERYTHING
They're just so caught up in their precious virtue, they're too fricking blind to see it.

The attention that comes with not following the rules set forth for everyone?
I think this is kind of the point, right? If all kids are expected to follow certain rules, and the rules are applied evenly regardless of race, then why would "students of color" be affected by the rules more, if not by definition being unable or unwilling to follow the same rules as everyone else?
This basically reads as if she is suggesting that "students of color" don't want to follow the same rules and are upset when they are expected to...and that's racist.

Yet you mentioned it in the subject as if it is an important element.
I"m sure you would post about white couples disagreeing with CRT.

And the winner of this thread goes to…
Also L.A. you may remember me telling you about 5/6 years ago how my oldest daughter came home crying about the “ white privilege “ checklist her teacher gave her and how it contradicted everything we had taught our children as mixed race children. It’s so harmful to them, but it’s absolutely ubiquitous.

Follow the rules, you don't get called out.
Does this person have any data that supports that statement?
