Incest and rape are always used for the Abortion rights argument
aren't these rare? I've always been in favor of abortion in these kind of cruel situations...but my gosh it has be dealt with early...you can't let a fully formed baby in womb happen and then decide to have an abortion...we just can't do this...

this maybe a dumb question but wouldn't the morning after pill be a solution to preventing unwarranted pregnancy?

if a woman is raped, they immediately go to the clinic...

make the police report

then take morning after pill...

waiting 6 weeks to learn she is pregnant would be foolish

Doesn't every women who is raped wonder if they are pregnant by the animal who raped them?

Don't they ask what to do immediately?

If conception = life, then you shouldn't be able to abort for any of those reasons.

Sure, but they're reality for women it has actually happened to.

And we should be in no position to force them to carry and relive a nightmare for 9 months against their will.

then take morning after pill...

If you don't support the exception for rape and incest, you shouldn't support the morning after pill either.

Dems are emotional creatures that need stroking and coddling to ease their tensions. This is the emotional response that creates a reaction to the other side to back down.

if my wife was raped, I am not raising a rape baby...Heck I know a woman who is a rape baby...she is mess...even became a prostitute...really sad, never accepted by her sisters or the mother of her siblings...miserable situation...

I have my limits, I make exceptions in situations where someone has a committed crime against another soul, but it must be an early decision to abort.

consensual irresponsible sex out of wedlock is risky

when does someone know conception has happened?

Doesn't the pill prevent ovulation, therefore if successful prevents conception?

I recon not but I do...
and I am pro life...but when crimes are committed... you make exceptions....but again, you must make the decision very early...

Yes, but people are rarely morally consistent.

You know you can’t just take a pregnancy test after you’re nutted in, right?

Morning after pill isn’t 100% effective either.

You need exceptions for these very rare but exceedingly cruel circumstances.

I know some of you are in the “it’s still life even though it came from rape” but please realize only like 10% of the country feels that way and that view is fringe, despite what you believe

The rape and incest arguments are only made to make pro-lifers look like callous monsters. They don’t care about rape and incest. They want abortion for convenience to be legal, period. They use the exception to justify the rule.

Even so, there shouldn’t be an exception for rape and incest if the argument is that abortion should be illegal because of the value of the unborn child. The circumstances of the conception shouldn’t matter in that case.

Yea , it's a talking point for Liberals and a lot of so called Conservatives on this board.

Those Conservatives don't even realize they are thinking like a Liberal.

conception is like seed taking water and sunlight

it takes time to develop...

my conscious allows for the seed to be "aborted"

when arms and legs are ripped apart during abortions, well, we all know that's murder

EXTREMELY

It's moral hyperbole on their part.

Doesn't matter what percent of the country "feels".

If your going to argue that conception = life, then there should be no exceptions. If the morning after pill prevents conception, then rape victims or anyone wanting to prevent a pregnancy should be free to take it.

I guess it all comes down to what you consider life/human/etc.

But as much of this battle is a PR battle as a moral battle. Allowing exceptions for rape/incest, even initially would have brought more people to support the law. You can say that’s too pragmatic. But that’s showbiz, baby.

It’s fine that you believe this I guess because you have a right to an opinion.

But this is a very fringe view.

Mission Accomplished!

A pregnant 11-year-old rape victim would no longer be allowed to have an abortion under new state law

No, the liberals have characterized the conservatives view all along...which is we are not for aborting children formed in the womb and the women decides its an inconvenience.

most of us have an exception...when a person has been forced to have unwanted sex...

I mean just imagine your 15 year old daughter raped...

you tell me if you don't allow for an abortion in this horrible circumstance

but if that happened to my daughter, we take the morning after pill, we see a doctor immediately, we deal with it before we know she is pregnant or not...

you stop it before anything could develop...

am I wrong?

It’s the only logically consistent view. Consensus opinion doesn’t determine truth.

One horrific tragedy shouldn’t occur to make someone feel better about another horrific tragedy.
