They got him now!!

quote:

Riders were complaining about the messages, which usually were some version of "#IloveDonaldTrump."

Police and transit authorities created a fake wall out of plywood at one Brooklyn subway stop. They even created a padlocked door that looked similar to a worker access door in a construction area.

quote:

The beam was cleaned off. And on March 15th, they went in, did a plainclothes operation, and sure enough, a man came back and put up again -- 'hashtag love Trump' on the beam."

Officers were waiting behind the wall
and arrested the man. Police have identified him as Jamie Montemarano, 43. He faces charges of criminal mischief and making graffiti.

OFFICERS. Clearly an elite SWAT team was sitting behind the wall day and night waiting to end this menace.

Wonder how many graffiti arrests have been made in NYC over the last few years?

Stop breaking the law? In case you havent been to NYC over the last 25 years, grafitti is not all over the subway cars and subway stations any longer.

I would hope, (Perhaps optimistically) that NYPD would have got him regardless of political affilitation.

In other news 4,432,896 instances of profanity in spray paint still a-ok since passengers didn't complain.

Never change NY.

In the criminal justice system, Orange Man Bad graffiti based offenses are considered especially heinous.

In New York City, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious misdemeanors are members of an elite squad known as the Special Orange Man Bad Graffiti Unit.

These are their stories.

DUNG! DUNG!

Just google (or duckduckgo) "nyc graffiti arrests" you get a pretty significant number of arrests and investigations by the transit authority - it's a big part of their job. The guy arrested for the Trump tags is only getting pub here because, well, it's Trump related, but in the grand scheme his arrest doesn't appear unusual or notable.

Is his first name pronounced "HI-mee" or is it "Yo Jimmy"?

Do they often build walls for the expressed purpose of baiting other graffiti criminals? The article said they “got creative” so I infer the answer to that is “no.”

Is it usual for the NYPD to dedicate multiple plain clothes officers to lie in wait (presumably for hours, or days, or weeks) to catch other graffiti criminals?

i'm sure each grafitti artist is subjected to an entire fake wall built, painted completed with padlocked door and swarm of cops waiting patiently day and night for the serial killer..er 'perp' to return.

yep, every grafitti artist is captured like this, right cwill
