First off, I think abortion is spiritually & morally wrong.

However, it seems to me that abortion is keeping down the amount of children born to folks who are more on the undesirable side of society. Decent and/or intelligent folks are already being outpaced in the birthrate game, so we need all the help we can get maintaining the balance.

How do I square these 2 beliefs?

I'm against being taxed for abortion. Pay for your own abortion.

You’re not alone. The fetuses are torn up over it too.

You should want the undesirable part of society to make themselves better so they aren't undesirable...

‘All men are created equal’ is a lie.

Thinking abortion is good because of population control is fricked up.

Naziesque.

Why not just throw unneeded babies to the wolves or pitbulls?

If you think a fetus is a person but killing them is ok because they are more often "undesirable" persons then you essentially believe in eugenics.

It's really not that much different that believing "undesirable" persons of any type be killed.

Sorry, but killing humans for convenience or to prevent some other problem is not something I can ever support.

It always blows my mind that people will support abortion but lose their shite when a mother does something bad to a child she gave birth to. Those are one and the same in my mind.

By choosing to have some integrity (consistency) on the issue.

If murder is “spiritually and morally wrong,” as you rightly point out, then it’s still spiritually and morally wrong if the person being murdered is someone you don’t particularly like (“undesirable people” in your words). Murder doesn’t become morally ok just because you don’t like the person being murdered. If that were the case, no murder would be immoral- pretty sure a person who murdered another is unfavorably predisposed against that person to begin with, or else he wouldn’t murder him.

Either murder is wrong or it’s not. Pick a side.

But it’s not an issue of “I don’t like.” It’s an issue of societal burden.

It's a complicated argument. I'd hate to tell a woman she can't have one but at the same time it is ending a life or at least what would become a life. There are cases where the woman has a good chance of dying in childbirth or was impregnated by rape. In that case there are two victims....the child and the mother...and it becomes even more complicated.

One think i think is beyond effed up is that a woman can have an abortion and escape all responsibility for her actions without any say from the father. If the father wants to escape responsibility but the mother does not want to abort he can end up being put in jail for not paying for a child he did not want. double standard af

or they support abortion but talk shite about deadbeat dads who want nothing to do with their child. abortion is noble and brave for a woman but running out on a kid makes a man a piece of shite.

No, it’s a matter of “you don’t like,” (at least insofar as the original post is concerned).

“Societal burden” is arbitrary and relative.

Also, since we’re discussing morality and immorality, morality demands that we love and serve those “undesirables” (even the unlovable) and treat them with love and respect.

Murdering them kind of puts a damper on that.

Me too. On the one hand I want to see Progressive women suffer with a lifetime of debilitating guilt and shame and on the other hand I want to see Progressive women have less children who grow up to be complete barbarians and on the other hand (I have three hands) I want to see Progressive soy boys have less opportunities to raise their little sweethearts to adulthood where they can take away all our rights.

And then I remember that it's about the unborn CHILD and his rights to life free of the homicidal instincts of his parents.

It’ll come down to when you think it becomes a human. To me during the first trimester I don’t believe that it is. I do have issues with late term abortions unless the mothers life is in jeapordy.

No. You can be anti-abortion, yet pro-choice. Which is my personal belief on the issue.

No, you can’t.

You just stated that your position is that you are against murder... unless someone chooses to murder.

Yeah.

Again, either murder is wrong or it’s not. Pick a side.
