True story, funny story, I was in a firm where they encouraged us to be members of and paid our dues for things like the ABA. I resigned after 1 year because I simply disagree with almost any position or action they take.
20 years later, I'm just fine without them.

TRUMP hates when men cry in a formal setting, but hopefully he makes an exception here. Not everyone can be Alpha and fight back with an evil twinkle in their eye and a smile (TRUMP) or with righteous indignation (Kavanaugh).

Preach it brother. Those fricks on the executive board are to the left of Che Guevara when you come down to it. I kid you not. I lasted a little longer than you with my membership. I actually got the impetus to change when a doctor friend of mine told me that most practicing physicians do not belong to the AMA. So I thought why waste the money when I find most of their positions to be counter productive to a functioning legal system.

I refused to join ABA or participate in my first firm's United Way basically mandatory annual drive, and I deselect my state bar's "charity" shite. I'll give my money to people I deem worthy.

I was a member of the ABA for a while. But, their CONSTANT emailing me with useless CLEs and ideas to get "woke" made me not renew.
Their judicial rating process is a shell of what it once was and has been boiled down to nothing but political hackery. They stack the rating committees with far left-wing reviewers and then claim their ratings are flawless.
I much prefer the Federal Bar Association and local, smaller organizations. I'll never join the ABA again.

The AMA is just as bad. They declared guns an epidemic.
And they put all kinds of stupid stuff on verbal patient pre-op questions that a lot of nurses omit.
I have a lot of fun with that.
