For housing or food...
Can you vote objectively?
Should these people forfeit their right to vote?

Thats assuming only one party gives hand outs

No.
Until you stop giving things to abled bodied people, nothing will change.
Its the exact reason a "democracy" or relative democracy is always going to fail.

So are you suggesting no older people vote because of Ssi or ins they paid for last 40-50 years?
Posted on 10/24/22 at 10:13 am to ApexTiger
It's a conflict of interest.
I've said it for years.

...it bears out the Democrats own these constituents...
In other words...these voters vote Democrat to keep getting funding
There isn't anything temporary about this aid
As a country we will never improve under this cyclical situation

That's insurance. Not hand outs.

Social security isn't section 8 housing or food stamps

Much like non-property owners voting for property taxes.

I'll never get what I paid in. So no.

Or members of the military.
So what you probably meant was means-tested funds from the government.
But why stop there? If your company has a contract with the government, you also have a vested interest. Defense contractors, medicare/caid providers. A LOT of people get money from the government.

No, you can't. It's no different than a bribe.
"Democrats may completely frick up the economy, but I don't wanna lose my food stamps!"

Government employees?
Does that include military? Your job depends on the NDAA including a trillion dollars of military spending every year.
I see where you're going, but it's slippery.

Our founding fathers only let landowners vote and the voting age was 21. They knew back then that people had to have some skin in the game to vote objectively.
While I don't think you have to be a landowner, but you should have to be employed and pay taxes. An 18 year old in college living off mom and dad should not be voting, but if you are 18, working and paying taxes, in the military, you should be allowed to vote. BTW, my 2 kids fall under the under 21, in college, living off mom and dad, working part time, and even though they vote Republican, until they support themselves, no vote!

So no farmer should vote if they get any kind of farm aid (which is the vast majority of them)?
Nobody who did ROTC to pay for their food and housing for college?
Nobody whose mom is in a Nursing home on Medicaid?

SSI is a contract they paid into. It’s not a hand out.

You really are dumb.
The OP is talking about welfare & food stamps.

The farmers I know pay Federal Income Taxes.

No. If you receive funds you will vote for more government. It assumes one party.
