I'm hoping that's the positive side of this. There is absolutely no reason we should depend on China for anything.

It doesn’t even need to be here. Just not in fricking totalitarian shite hole China.

Probably best to put it in Latin America so their economies aren’t so bad and people aren’t incentivized to illegally migrate here. Also keeps prices far lower than they would be if all that manufacturing was here.

Two birds, one stone.

The United States and Canada need to jointly create a strategic pharmaceutical manufacturing hub because its in both of our national interests. China has held the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada hostage using medicine as bullets.

The Democrats & Republicans better get off their arse and get this fixed ASAP.

frick China!

We have a lot of stupid people in this country so don't hold your breath.

They want low prices so they have enough many to buy cigarettes , beer and pot with their disposable income.

Mexico.

Thinking we're setting this up, with our war on the cartels. Eliminating or reducing their influence would make a more stable Mexico that's more conducive to to moving factories there, and also makes them better "neighbors" that aren't ready to flee here. More reason to stay south of the border if there are jobs to be had, and less fear of cartel/government influence and corruption.

I have said for years...if we had taken half of the trillions we dumped in the ME and invested in Mexico and Canada, China would be Viet Nam 2.0 and we wouldn't have an immigration problem or the current problem.

Also this promotes people to live within their means. Like buying stuff you can actually afford instead of racking up debt or having loans for a bunch of stuff.

I agree but I have a bad feeling that when this is over we will just go back the same old same old.
In the last 50-70 years, when have we ever learned?

It hasn’t happened

Honestly, a very large majority of people dying from this are obese or have obesity related diseases. I hope it inspires Americans to change eating habits and get in shape. Fat people were already putting a major strain on our healthcare system.

Then the wallstreet fatcats and captains of industry won't be able to exploit workers in sweatshops so it wont happen.

But the people pulling the strings really, really, really care about the ME. The United States succeeding and prospering? Not so much.

WE must do our part as consumers. I'm doing absolutely everything I can to make sure every product I buy is US-made. If we can all do this, manufacturing has no choice

I agree 100%.

But China and its surrogates own Congress. No way will those shills do anything to bring manufacturing home or to anywhere else outside of the PRC.

We are China’s banana republic. They steal, buy or are given our technology and manufacturing processes and sell us the cheap goods they make, all while owning a significant portion of our debt.

You’re right...but it is going to be up to us to demand it, both through political action and our personal shopping habits through buying American. Politicians need to be on notice that outsourcers and mass immigration advocates may cut checks, but checks can’t vote.

If it is made in China or Vietnam, let it rot on the shelf.

This definitely needs to be Trump's selling point in his campaign because the Dems sure as hell won't be running on it.
